On That Day
One day,
On a day you least expect,
You'll have to leave behind your past,
Something you will wish you had back.
You'll say goodbye to your friends,
You'll say goodbye to your family,
You'll say goodbye to your now childhood bedroom,
Goodbye to that turtle plush that you got with your own money seven years back,
Goodbye to your home.
Leaving what your used to,
And starting a new chapter in your life.
On that day,
While you're driving to your new chapter,
You'll pull over,
Get out,
And throw up,
Because a part of you doesn't wanna leave,
A part of your is scared of entering a lifestyle you're not familiar with,
A part of you is afraid to continue.
But you'll look back and see,
That you brought that turtle plush with you,
And you'll realize that -
You never said goodbye.
That part of you is always with you,
It's just going to be behind you,
So that you can look forward,
And see your path,
Your future.
So you'll get back in your car,
Feeling better,
Because you know now that you are not leaving anything behind.
But only on that day.
