Summary

Aleena Jones never asked for power. She wanted to finish school, hang out with her friends, maybe figure out what she wanted from life. But when the impossible finds her-a wreath of divine power that should have died with the Titans War-Aleena is thrust into a world where myths breathe, monsters hunt, and gods will kill to keep their thrones. Now, hunted by creatures out of legend and caught between feuding immortals, Aleena discovers fragments of godhood awakening inside her. The power is raw. Dangerous. Tempting. And every step closer to mastering it drags her further into the war of gods. Aleena has two choices: run until there's nowhere left to hide...or claim the power that could rewrite Olympus itself.

Prologue

Hi, my name is Aleena Jones and this is the story of how I became a worldwide hero.

Jk, jk.

Okay, maybe not worldwide, but I did save some lives.

Anyways—here’s how it goes.

Just to give you a little rundown: we’re not in your regular ol’ Earth anymore. Welcome to the world of the Gods. And I mean actual gods. Like Zeus-hurling-lightning-bolts, Poseidon-controlling-oceans, Hades-ruling-the-underworld type of gods. Yeah. Those guys. The Big Three.

In this world, you’ve got a few types of beings running around. First, there are the demi-gods—born of a god and a human. Think: regular kid, but with powers, baggage, and usually a prophecy hanging over their head.

Then you’ve got the half-gods—and no, before you ask, they’re not the same. Half-gods are born of two gods, so technically, they are gods. Just... not full-fledged Olympian-level. More like varsity gods waiting to go pro. We still call them “half” gods though. It’s confusing, I know, but trust me—it makes sense when you’re here.

Oh, and don’t forget the demons and monsters. Yeah. Those are real too. Most of them? Courtesy of Hades, who apparently didn’t get the memo that we have enough problems. Some of them are mindless beasts, but some are clever—like, creepy-clever. The kind that waits until you let your guard down, then BAM. You’re toast.

And just when you think you’ve wrapped your head around all that, you realize all the stuff you thought was “mythical” or “made up”? It’s actually real. Every last bit of it. Harpies. Sirens. Centaurs. Cyclopes. Nymphs. It’s like a fantasy video game threw up and decided to call it home.

I know, right? Totally insane. I still can’t believe I’m even part of this world. A few weeks ago, I was just a normal high school girl trying to get out of high school as soon as possible. Now? I’m fighting monsters, and running away from the Gods…

So yeah. Buckle up. Because this isn’t just my story. It’s the beginning of a war. And apparently, I’m the reason for it.

Let’s go back to where it started.
