Chapter 1
Mathis
It had been 2 months since anyone had came back to the house. As soon as Robert came he left just as quickly the same happen with Giovanni. And of course they took Emma and Raven with them. I had no idea where Noah, Haley, Seth, Eric or Aiden were. Thankfully Victoria didn't pay me any visits. I felt like something was happening but no one was telling me what was going on. All I knew was Robert, Emma, Giovanni, Eric and Raven went to Waelmore which was Noah's estate.
I was lucky to get 10 minutes of Robert's time. I wanted to ask him why now my heart was beating. Was this normal? Was this another growing pain he didn't tell me about? Did all vampires feel this way at some point in their lives?
PAM didn't have any answers and I sure as hell wasn't going to a doctor to talk about it.
I kept dreaming about the woman Noah and I found in the hole. I really wish I didn't hand her over to the proper channels at the boarder.
I didn't even get her name.
I should have asked her for her name I thought as I rummage through the refrigerator; to find freshly stocked blood bags.
No more AB negative blood I only had like two bags left.
Just back to Emma's O.
A bit into my blood bag and made my way back downstairs to the living room area. Since I was the only one home I had the big screen all to myself. I flopped down on the white couch kicking my feet up. Nothing was on worth watching I just needed the sound of something in this empty house to keep me from going insane.
"Hey PAM?"
"Good evening, Mathis how can I help you?"
"Can you call...." Who to annoy today,"...fuck it let's try Robert again".
"Are you sure you want to try Robert Conway? You have called him five times already today
"Hey, I didn't ask for any judgment. I asked for a phone call... Wait I'm sorry", PAM was the only one I was talking to these days. Even though she was AI I still didn't want to hurt her feelings,"Please make the call... You know you're right, call Eric".
If he wasn't screwing his new girlfriend he would talk to me.
"Calling... I'm sorry Mathis but Eric is currently busy. Would you like to leave a message?"
"No....no...."
"Disconnecting", She responded. "Would you like me to order you a new Lego set?"
"PAM don't treat me like a child. But yes, I want them".
"Ordering New Star Wars Lego set now. Your new addition should be here within 1 hour by drone".
"Thank you, PAM", I said finishing my blood bag. Well this was great. What was I supposed to do in the meantime? "Hey PAM?"
"Good evening, Mathis". She didn't even ask how are you. Even PAM was getting annoyed of me.
"Is there anything going on tonight. Like any events?"
"Searching.... There's a wacky warrior paintball event---"
"No".
"Play time party center is having a grand opening---"
"No", What am I four?
"The bluffs mini golf course comes highly recommended".
"PAM can you pick some like adult things? Not things Robert has told you to give me".
"Searching... There's an auction tonight", that got my attention as I sat straight up.
"Where?"
"Syracuse at the Marriott hotel".
I've never been to an auction before. Robert wouldn't even entertain the idea even though that was how Giovanni met Raven. I wasn't "ready" or "responsible" enough. But now was a prime example. I couldn't depend on Robert for everything. And it's not like I was looking for my Emma, Raven or Mey. Was platonic friendship a no-go too?
I guess if it was friendship I wouldn't be essentially buying a person. Which never sat well with me. But I wasn't as old as Giovanni, Robert, Eric or Noah. Maybe if I went I could just find someone who could...I don't know be my friend?
God I was lonely....
And once Robert got back what would he say if I just went around his back?
I had to bury that idea away. It was just like Eric said the next time I wanted to do something I shouldn't have to get permission. I was a grown ass man! I was going to the auction. If anything I would just get to see what it was like. It's not like I'm expecting to find anything. This will be a good time waster. At least until my Legos come.
"PAM, What time does the auction start?"
