Excerpt

Miguel looked up from the file sprawled across his desk across the room at the sound of the door opening. For a flitting second, surprise crossed his features, but it was quickly replaced by that smug smile of his—one that never failed to grate on my nerves.

I shut the door softly behind me, the quiet click echoing in the spacious room. His office that occupied the entire top floor of the hotel was an expanse of polished oak, dark leather, and power.

Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the skyline, offering a breathtaking view of the East River below. Beyond the glass, storm clouds gathered like a restless sea, their reflection rippling across the glossy marble floors.

He rose slowly from behind his desk, his imposing figure unfolding like a brewing storm. He looked like he always did, immaculate as ever, his navy suit clinging to the broad lines of his shoulders, the sage-green tie a sharp contrast to the crisp white shirt beneath. The dark swirl of ink on his neck peeked above his collar, a quiet reminder of the danger beneath the polish.

His hair was swept back, not a single strand out of place, and those intense topaz eyes—sharp and unrelenting—pinned me to the spot as though he could see straight through the brittle facade of my bravado.

"Mi amor, you came," he murmured, rounding his desk with slow, deliberate steps while I stood there, fuming.

"Don't call me that," I spat.

He only chuckled, leaning lazily against the edge of his desk, the storm's reflection dancing over the sharp planes of his face as he watched me with unreadable eyes.

"Have you come to accept my proposal in person?" He asked, his voice smooth as glass, and I scoffed, taking slow, measured steps closer.

"Proposal? You threatened to hurt Stefan; how the hell is that a proposal?" I snapped, glaring daggers at the man who has turned my life upside down ever since he entered it.

"It was a necessary evil for me to have you," he said through gritted teeth.

My mouth went slack in utter disbelief. "Have me? I am not a fucking commodity!"

"I know that," he breathed, his eyes darkening as he closed the distance between us, towering over me.

The sudden flash of lightning outside illuminated the room, carving his face in silver light and shadow for a brief second, causing me to shudder. "But it doesn't make me want you any less, mi amor."

This is a sneak peak of what is to come, I’m so excited for this!🤎

Hey,

I just finished reading your story and I really loved it. The characters felt so real and every scene kept me completely engaged. I also have a few ideas on how we could enhance it visually if you are open to exploring them.
