PART 1: The Whispering Shadows

The night was colder than usual. A silver moon hung high, illuminating the edge of the forest like a pale guardian. Villagers whispered that when the moon turned red, the course would awaken, claiming those who dared step into its shadow.

Inside a small wooden house at the forest's edge, Elara pressed her forehead against the windowpane. Her heart pounded as she watched the tree branches away violently in the wind. Shadows slithered between the trunks, twisting unnaturally, their shapws likw wolves—but their eyes glowed with sorrow too human to be ordinary.

Her grandmothers's warning her mind: "Never wander into the forest when the moon turns crimson. The course waits for those who are carelwss." But tonight, something tugged at her soul, an invisible thread pulling her toward the dakness. She wrapped her cloak tightly, grapped a lantern, and stepped into the chill.

The forest swallowed her immediately. The wind carried voices that whispered her name, sometimes soft, sometimes urgent. The smell of damp earth and moss silled her lungs. Every step she took seemed to echo in the shadows.

Suddenly, movement caught her eye. Figures in dark cloaks emerged from the mist—human, but not villagers she knew. Their eyes ere sharp, their hands holding strange weapons. Elara froze. They are here to stop me... or kill me.

A dagger whistled past her shoulder. She ducked, barely escaping. Fear surged through her viens as rhe cloakedfigures advanced. The forest seemed alive, branches sriking like claws, roots tangling around her feet. Just when she thought she was cornered, a growl cut through the chaos.

A massive wolf leapt between her and the attackers, teeth bared, fur bristling. Elara stumbled back, terror gripping her, Its eyes met hers, intelligent and knowing, yet terrifying. For a moment, she felt a strange connection, as if the beast recognized something within her.

The wolf attaked the intruders with brutal precision, scattering them into the shadows. Heart racing, Elara caught her breath. The wolf turned to her. low growl fading, eyes still locked on hers. The pull she felt toward the forest felt stronger, almost as if the wolf and the darkness were guiding her.

Her hand trembled as her raised the lantern. She realized that this creature—once terrifying—might be the only ally she could trust. Yet deep inside, a warning lingered: trust cautously, for in this forest nothing is as it seems.

Above her, the moon began to shift, a faint crimson tint spreading across its surface. The course was stirring. And Elara knew, with a mixture of fear and determination, that her journey had truly begun.
