A Birthday Surprise
Hey friends!!!
I am Anna, the CEO of Crown Diamonds. It is the biggest diamond company in my city. It took a lot of effort for me to gain such a reputation. I was checking important emails on my laptop when I heard a knock at my door.
“Come in!” I said, still focused on my laptop screen, my fingers dancing on the keyboard. “Ma’am, Mr. Carter sent these flowers for you,” said my assistant. “Keep them there,” I replied. She placed the bouquet on my desk and left.
After five minutes, I finished checking all my emails. I took the flowers in my hands and smelled them. They were wonderful. With that fragrance, I got lost in my thoughts, reminiscing about our memories and the time we spent together. Just then, my train of thought was broken when I received a message on my phone.
It read: “Happy Birthday, love. A surprise is waiting for you at Skyview Hotel, room number 1506.”Yes! It’s my 23rd birthday. A smile formed on my lips. I quickly grabbed my car keys and left for the location.
Finally, half an hour later, I arrived at the hotel. I parked my car and walked towards the elevator. With a ding sound, the elevator doors opened. I stepped inside and pressed the button for the 15th floor. I was excited for my surprise gift.
The elevator doors opened again with a ding. I stepped out and made my way to room 1506. I finally reached. I couldn’t wait for the surprise anymore. Getting curious, I opened the door and went inside but found no one. I was about to call Zen when I heard some voices—maybe they were coming from the bedroom.
So, I went to check. The door was slightly open, so I looked inside and saw Zen... he... he was standing too close to a girl. I couldn’t see her face because she was facing away from me. But... then Zen kissed her. I felt numb. He betrayed me. How could he do this to me?
But then the girl broke the kiss and said in a frustrated voice, “Zen, when will this drama end? I’m tired of acting now. ”That voice sounded familiar. My train of thought was interrupted when Zen replied, “Calm down! It will end soon once I marry her, and her entire property will be mine.” “And what about the accident with her dad?” the girl asked. “I killed him. He was such a pain in the ass. He also learned the truth,” Zen replied.
“What!?” I gasped. I quickly covered my mouth, but it was too late. They had already seen me. But I was even more shocked when the girl turned around. It was my best friend, Zoe.
I lost all control. I ran out of there and went to the terrace. I heard Zen calling my name, but I ignored him and ran towards the terrace.
I was crying uncontrollably, breathing heavily. He... he just said he killed my dad. “Dad, you were right. Zen is not a good guy for me. I’m sorry, Dad... I’m so sorry...” I whispered to myself, remembering the moment.
I was crying when I heard Zen’s voice. “Anna! Please give me a chance to explain. It’s... it’s a misunderstanding,” he said.
But before he could finish, I snapped, “Oh really? A misunderstanding? Stop lying, Zen. I heard everything...”
“That’s great. Now we don’t need to act anymore in front of you,” said Zoe. Her words hurt even more.
“How could you do this to me, Zoe? You were my best friend!” I cried. “Exactly! I was...” she said, approaching me. But without another word, she pushed me, causing me to lose my balance. My leg slipped, and I fell from the terrace...
“Aaaaaahhhhh...”
