Author's Note
Dear Readers,
Here we are. The beginning of the end.
I’m not going to lie, writing this book broke me a little. Chapter 3 took me to places I didn’t expect to go, and Eleanor... well, she fought me every step of the way. She always does. But this time felt different. This time, I had to trust her completely, even when I wasn’t sure where she was leading me.
This book is heavy. Heavier than the first two, and I need you to know that going in. It deals with isolation, with being told you’re wrong about your own reality, with holding onto something when the entire world insists you should let go. There’s violence, grief, trauma, and explicit content. This one will make you uncomfortable in ways the previous books didn’t. But I promise, there’s a reason for all of it.
If you’ve been with Eleanor since the first chapter, you know this hasn’t been an easy ride. Your willingness to go to dark places with me, to question everything alongside Eleanor, to stay invested even when the answers weren’t clear—that trust you’ve given me is something I’ll never take for granted. Thank you for not giving up on this story.
If you’re just finding this series now, please start with Chapter 1. Eleanor’s journey only makes sense if you’ve walked every step with her. Trust me on this one.
I’m going to miss writing Eleanor. I’m going to miss her stubbornness, her refusal to be what anyone expects, her absolute conviction, even when it costs her everything. She’s been living in my head for so long that letting her go feels... strange.
But every story has to end somewhere. Even the ones that feel like they could go on forever.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for trusting me with this story.
Now let’s see how this all ends.
