Summary

Seventeen-year-old Tatiana has spent her life holding her broken family together inside the walls of the West End Projects. Since her father walked out, she’s been the backbone of her crumbling family. Working two jobs, caring for her three little sisters, and cleaning up after her alcoholic mother, Latrice. When she loses one of her jobs, she scrambles to fill the gap. The man who once stole her innocence, her mother’s boyfriend, James returns and desperation drives her toward an offer that’s too good to be true. What follows unravels everything she’s fought to hold together. Haunted by trauma, betrayal, and voices she can no longer silence, Tatiana faces the unthinkable truth: sometimes, the only way to stop the cycle is to break it completely.

Prologue

Everyone tells me I’m strong, but no one asks if I’m tired.

Tired of holding everyone together.

Tired of pretending like everything is OK.

Tired of being tired.

What happens when the strong becomes weak?

What happens when the soul is spiritually drained and you just want to…give up…

How much torment do I have to suffer before it’s okay…to give up?
