I am Annie Nolbert, the new girl from the wrong side of town, and I wasn't about to let a little mystery and mayhem about woodcreek academy scare me off. That was, until I met Vincenzo Zambrotta - the feared athlete with a smile that could charm the devil himself. Our first encounter was a collision course of disaster, and I knew right then that my life was about to change forever. Little did I know, the real horror was just beginning... and it wasn't Vincenzo's icy stare that I should be afraid of.

Chapter 1

Annie Pov

"Mom, I don't want to leave my friends behind, I have a life here." I said grumpily.

"My dear, woodcreek academy is the best school in the country, we were even lucky you were picked for the scholarship." My mother replied. I buzzed out of the living room angry.

"No one ever listens to me. I like it here, I don't want to go." I pouted as I made my way back to my room slamming the door as hard as I could to display how enraged I was.

"Kate you should not be too harsh on her she's still young." Grandma Mia warned my mother in a low tone while nibbling on her snacks.

"But, everything I have done since day one was only for her good but somehow she thinks I hate her." Kate replied with a distressed tone her frustration evident.

"Don't worry, I'll go talk to her." Mia sighs before struggling to get up from the couch.

"While you are at it, tell her to pack her bags, she need to get to Zambrotta airport in the next 2 hours so she doesn't miss her flight." Kate muttered looking nonchalant, Mia gives her a long stare before proceeding to Annie's room.

"Aniemawo" Grandma Mia called me by my special name, one that she named me herself, she came into my room and sat close to me.

"My prettiest grandchild" Grandma Mia said softly as she caressed my hair with made me let out a faint smile.

"Grandma but I don't want to go, I have friends here, I like it here, please don't allow them send me away." I pleaded hoping to change my parents mind through my grandma.

"I know you don't want to go, but this is a great opportunity for you, who knows you might even like it there when you go and see the place for yourself, you might even meet your prince charming." Grandma whispered while raising her eyebrows suspiciously which made me burst out into laughter.

My grandma was the only one that I could talk to, she was almost like my personal therapist as she was always willing to hear me out unlike my parents.

"I know this is not an easy step, but it is one you have to take for the family." Grandma said softly giving me a reassuring nod.

"Okay grandma." I yielded to her request.

"Thank you dear, Aniemawo, and when you get there, don't let anyone born of a woman treat you less than you deserve, show them you're a Nolbert, we do not yield." Grandma added and her pep talk left an everlasting smile on my face.

As I packed my bags, I took all my treasured belonging and my parents and grandma saw me off to the airport, I looked back one more time feeling a pang of sadness because I was leaving a place where I lived since I was a child, I gave my grandma one last hug before boarding the plane to Venice. It wasn't long until I got to Zambrotta airport in Venice, and I as I got down from the plane I was a bit confused and lost until I heard a voice

"Ann!" As I turned to see who it was I noticed it was my childhood friend.

"Veronica!" I yelled as I ran towards her and hugged her, Veronica and her family moved to Venice when we were 7, she was the one who informed my parents about the scholarship program in their school.

"I was almost lost looking for you, you've grown so big Vee" I said hugging her one more time my excitement evident, I felt a rush of nostalgia from our childhood days, it was almost like she never left at all.

"You made it, I'm so happy to see you, I can't wait to show you around school" Veronica replied dragging my luggage from me and walking towards our ride.

When we got to the school, I noticed the building were amazing and the structures were breathtaking. The infrastructure was like nothing I've ever seen, we got to the admin block were I was suppose to verify my status as a student, Veronica waited outside as I spoke to the staff and in no time I was cleared and given an identification card, some books and keys to my locker.

As I was about to leave I collided with someone which made everything I was carrying fall on the floor, as I lifted my head to see who I had collided with, I saw a guy that was as tall as mount everest, his body well chiseled, his shoulders broad but his expression was stoic.

"Damn he's cute." I thought to myself as I was still processing what had just happened.

"You know glasses were made for people that are almost blind and can't see, you should definitely get yourself one." He said looking as mean as a judge.

"Excuse you!" I said trying to match up with his energy, if the people around here are rude I wasn't going to let them bully me.

"If you were not standing behind me like a creepy wierdo maybe I wouldn't have bumped into you." I replied wearing the meanest face I could find.

"What did you just say to me?" He asked looking more surprised than offended but I wasn't going to back down now

"Yes, I said what I said and you can't do shit about it." I replied my morale growing more than ever but to my surprise he looks at me and just smiles.

What is he smiling about? Did I say anything funny? Oh he thinks I'm a clown now? I thought to myself as I wondered what could be going through his mind

"Let it go Vin, break it up" the admin staff said and I proceeded to walk away. I meet Veronica outside and she told me it was lunch time and we were heading to the cafeteria.
