What is your opinion?

Late night review of a french guy

"This fanfic is honestly one of the best I've ever read since discovering fanfictions in 2007. I'm a sucker for Harry Potter fanfictions. Especially the ones with an amoral/psychopath protagonist ruthless enough to accomplish his/her goals by any means necessary. I also enjoy reading about the meaning of self, enlightment and emotions (which might explains why I'm studying psychology). Those introspective passages are the juciest in my opinion. Since I have no way of distinguishing what is a good or bad writing, I can only give my own non-factual feeling of it. I dislike short and action-packed paragraphs in those kind of stories. But I can understand (or am I reading too much into it?) why you did so: to give the impression that the end is nearing. Time is of the essence and that is seeing in the way everyone move so quickly, almost frantically. I can only regret those moments where Harry was conversing with himself, learning about the true essence of magic. There is something wonderful in seeing Harry express his genius in various magical ways. . Now let's talk about the positive points I enjoy here: the way you mix everyone's perception during one single lapse of time. That brings the feeling of chaos when disasters strike. Suddenly, there is not only Harry's righteousness about the Void and the one who opposes him, there is also the japanese girl who wants to destroy what she sees as a monster, or the mentor that tries to fix his mistakes, ... It's interesting to see new facets of personnality rise in other characters (Voldemort, Draco, Dumbledore, etc) or meeting new characters altogether (Hitomi just to point one, although her character deserved a bit more development in my opinion). Also, I don't know if it was done consciouly but the way your story is structured around Harry is brilliant. First there is nothing but a will to prove himself superior to any other (with Dumbledore beeing the strongest to surpass). Then he encounters the desert and gains an understanding of others, which morphs in the will to awaken his kin to the "true" magic of the world. This morphs again as he understands that he didn't awaken himself. And so it all comes back to the Source. The way you write following those transformations changes too at the same time. Harry not only turned the world into his dream, but the writing of the story too. Honestly, I don't know what I'm writing. I don't even speak english really well and it's late. But I really like what you write. I don't know why you left fanfiction.net and it's not my affairs. I only wish you continue to write. Bring us to the end of this story. Bring us to the Source."
