Prologue – When Nature Shifts

At first, it was subtle: a sharper sense here, a fleeting instinct there. Then came the undeniable signs: secondary genders, evolving to meet the world’s harsh demands.

Alphas: dominant, commanding, instinctively protective, their presence alone enough to guide and influence.

Betas: steady, adaptable, balancing extremes, bridging divides that otherwise tore communities apart.

Omegas: sensitive, empathetic, capable of calming chaos or amplifying harmony, their very physiology tuned to the rhythms of others.

Nature had found its solution—but evolution was slow, deliberate. Humanity was impatient.

Even in quiet corners of the world, subtle anomalies began to appear. Unexplained fragrances wafted through certain crowds—floral, green, sometimes faintly smoky—lingering in ways that drew attention without explanation. A calm would settle over heated Alphas. Anxiety would ease in distraught Omegas. Even Betas seemed to sharpen, their focus heightened.

No one understood why. No one could classify it.

And somewhere, in the shadows of cities and laboratories alike, a single presence waited, unmeasured, untamed—a ripple in the natural order.

It would move unseen. It would defy expectations.

When it finally emerged, the world would realize that evolution had taken a leap it had not intended, creating a life that could not be defined by Alpha, Beta, or Omega.

A force born not of design, but accident.

And it would leave its mark—delicate, haunting, unforgettable—like a scent carried on the wind.
