Prologue

In Georgia there’s a small town named after the first man who discovered it, Remington. In Remington there’s nothing but indoor pets, fresh cut grass, white houses with picket fences, and BMW’s that’s parked in large garages. You can say it’s an all American dream with pitch perfect families. For most, that is. But for the Roberts family hide behind smiles and success, but underneath is the man of the house, Richard, who works as a lawyer for the not so innocent. The suburban families are aware of this but it’s usually forgotten when he puts in money for the towns seasonal festivals and sometimes wins the largest watermelon competitions. As for his wife, Sue, she’s an alcoholic who hides it by always winning the hearts over by her baked goods and her popular clothing store; ‘Dress Her’. And lastly, their daughter, Caroline. She stands out with her platinum blond hair whom she inherited from her grandmother, porcelain skin just like her mother, and baby blue eyes she got from her father.

Although she’s not like her parents, she still hides two big lies from them. One, her boyfriend, Gomez who she’s been seeing for a year now. And two, working at a strip club; “Cherry Poppers”, where conveniently she met Gomez in her stripper facade. “Candy”, Rather than attending collage like her parents had wanted. Caroline never wanted to attend some collage in Georgia, she wanted to move to New York and start out fresh with Gomez. Gomez was the opposite of everything Caroline’s family and peers stood for. He was a small time drug dealer and a petty thief from the wrong side of town. He was rude but never evil, his parents died on his graduation when he was in high school and the only one who was ever there for him was Caroline. His heart belonged to her and he loved her just as much as she loved him. Even though their relationship was a secret, they were both happy.

Living with him in his trailer, his hustles, and Caroline’s quick money making, she was sure they’d be going to the big apple soon.

But that all changed when one night her parents went on a date night for their anniversary. Something they haven’t done in years. On their way home they both end up in a drunk argument that tragically led to a car accident, killing them and the victims in the process. After the accident, the family secrets began to unravel to the whole town, making Caroline’s stay at Gomez’s permanent.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
