Pines and tea

Oh hmm… that girl looks classy.

She’s like the epitome of beauty packed in one person. Her brown hair is flowing in the wind so perfectly, like one of those shampoo ads. Her lips curve like a heart that could shoot real arrows, and her skin, wow, it’s glowing like stars in the sky. What a caramel tone she has. I can’t help but keep staring, uff!

Then she turned around. Our eyes met.

Wait, she saw me staring? Oh no, she’s coming this way. What have I done besides admiring? No, no, please don’t come here, I mumble nervously under my breath.

I’m sweating all over, my throat’s dry, and she’s coming closer, oh god, she looks even more ethereal up close.

Feeling nervous again, I quickly stick my face into the book I’ve been reading for like two months. It’s a huge novel, 7,337 pages long, but honestly, it’s such an amazing story that I can’t stop reading it. Reading’s my hobby, but admiring people, yeah, that’s kind of an unhealthy habit I’ve adopted

Then she speaks, but not to me.

“How are you? I missed you so much, Gina! Congratulations on winning the competition!”

…Wow. So all that nervousness was for nothing.

She sits down at Gina’s table and starts chatting.

Gina Gregor, the popular study head of our college. People like me, the “Headers,” can’t even compare. She’s smart, kind, full of energy, but yeah, she’s got a temper. So I’ve never really had the chance to get close to her. She joins all sorts of hacking contests and even won the big Student Hacker Award of 2025.

Anyway, I turn back to my book. It’s seriously juicy, almost as interesting as that girl.

Then I hear a familiar voice.

“Hello, Madhu! Long time, mate. You’re shining today. Can I get your new number?”

I glance over at Gina’s table, and my jaw drops.

It’s none other than my brother, Zorus Header.
