Kenji arched an eyebrow at my words. “You think I’m handsome?” he teased, his gaze fixed on me. “You flirting with me?”

“I’m not blind, Sato. I know an attractive man when I see one.” I told him.

Kenji’s grin widened as he spoke, “I know an attractive woman when I see one.” There was a flirtatious undertone in his voice as he added, “And she’s right here.”

I let out a snort and said, “Please, I’m just plain and simple.”

Kenji’s expression turned soft with a hint of seriousness in his eyes. “Plain and simple,” he echoed, a hint of disagreement in his tone. “I don’t think so. Sometimes, the simplest things are the most beautiful.”

My heart skipped a beat, and I felt my cheeks flush. I wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol or the effect his words had on me, but the shift in the air around us was undeniable. The soft smile on his lips gradually faded, replaced with an intense look of admiration—and something else I couldn’t quite place. He studied my face, his gaze lingering on my flushed cheeks. My heart picked up pace, the weight of his attention making the silence between us feel heavier, charged with unspoken tension. It hung in the air, louder than any words could have been.

Kenji’s gaze didn’t waver, his focus was solely on me as he leaned in, just a few inches separating your faces. His eyes darted to my lips, then back up to my eyes, a silent question hanging in the air. “Do you know what I want to do right now?” he murmured, his voice low and husky, filled with unrestrained desire. 3

I swallowed slowly, the heat building between us. “I have a feeling you’re going to share it with me, whether I want to know or not.”

A small smirk quirked at the corner of Kenji’s lips as he leaned slightly farther, the distance between us shrinking. “I want to kiss you,” he whispered, his voice barely above a murmur.
