Chapter 1

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP - could my alarm be anymore annoying? As i slammed my hand on my alarm to turn it off, I realized that it was a Monday. I groaned. Another day of work at my office job. If I were to meet anyone who likes Monday, I would call them crazy. Monday was the day I got heaps and heaps of paperwork, and paperwork is not fun. I heaved myself out of my bed and my hands reached to cover my face. I also live very far away from my only piece of family, my little brother Elijah whose in Japan right now. So I live alone, in a one person apartment, just living and hoping somehow I get a boyfriend, then maybe a child one day. But no. I'm 30 and don't even have a boyfriend. I got ready for the tring day ahead of me, getting dressed and making breakfast for myself. Maybe I should be more like Jenna. She's very easy to be friends with since she's always bubbly, and that would definetly be a better aproach to getting a boyfriend. The guys would always stay away from me in grade school. Sometimes it would still happen in high school. I picked myself up from my dining room chair, forcing myself to the car. (Yes, that's really how much Lisa hates her job) The car turned on with a loud roar and I backed up out of my driveway. 8:34, the time said on my car's dashbourd. At least I'm not late...

...

The sun shone on my car as I drived down the streets of Winnipeg. For my gloomy Monday, Mother Nature seemed really happy that it was Monday. I parked into an open parking spot on the left of a tall white boring building that was my work, Callas Corp. Jenna's pink Jeep slowly started to back up into the parking spot beside my car. She gets out of the car, her face all smiles and sunshine and rainbows. Mine was dark clouds and frowns and rain. "Hey Lisa!" She happily exclaimed.

"Hello Jenna." She immediently sensed what was wrong just by hearing the way I said hello.

"I know Mondays are hard Lisa, but you'll get through it, you always do!" I scoffed. "Dosen't mean there won't be that one day where I don't get over Mondays anymore." Jenna frowned.

"Come on, let's just go in."

...

The building buzzed with conversation, and there were many people darting around, trying to do their work. Jenna's eyes lit up with an idea. "Hey, why don't you come over to my house so then this Monday is better?"

"I don't think it'll make me happy while I'm working."

Jenna frowned. "You can get though Mondays and you can certainly do it again. I'm trying to help you Lisa!" We both leaned against the wall beside my office. "Fine Jenna, I'll come over to your house after work," Jenna's eyes lit up once again and a slight smirk formed on my face. "Yay! Is 4 good?"

"I get of at 2:30 so four is good." Jena hugged me. "Yay! I can't wait! This is gonna be the best night ever!" I chuckled at Jenna's happiness. Then I opened my mouth to say something I would regret. "Your saying that as if it's not just gonna be two girls at your house."

"Great idea!" She exclaimed as I immediently regretted that. "I'll invite more people, we'll have a whole party!" Before I coud stop her, she skipped off in excitement. Shit... Now he would be there.
