Chapter 1 – Two Generals Beneath the Same sky
The battlefield stretched endlessly beneath a crimson sky.
The scent of iron and ashes filled the air, and banners — once symbols of pride — now hung tattered in the wind.
At the center of that chaos stood two men — Chu, commander of the southern kingdom, and Bai Chieu, the brilliant general of the north.
Once, they had fought side by side.
Once, they had shared laughter, wine, and unshakable trust.
But now, fate had set them against each other.
Across the smoke-filled field, Chu shouted hoarsely,
-“Bai Chieu! This isn’t what we dreamed of! Lay down your sword!”
Bai Chieu didn’t move. His armor gleamed faintly under the dying sun, his face unreadable.
-“If I stop,” he replied, voice steady, “who will protect those who still believe in me?”
The silence between them was heavier than the roar of war.
They both knew — neither would retreat.
When the war drums sounded again, the two men charged, not as friends, but as generals fated to destroy each other.
