Chapter 1
Kravenwolf, the Deliant.
Once upon a time, in Alaska, on the trail of Horseshoe Lake, there was a pack of werewolves led by Alpha, Sebastian Roman , a brave werewolf , and his mate Luna, Selena Aurelia Roman. Together, they lived peacefully in the dense forest that bordered the trail.
Their harmonious life continued until an unexpected event disturbed their tranquility.Kravenwolf Varok, a dangerous werewolf , had escaped from the Prison of Shadows .
Lucan Griffon, Sebastian's best friend, suddenly emerged from the forest, panting, his eyes wide with panic. His hurried footsteps echoed like a warning on the damp ground. Sebastian, alerted by the unusual sound, raised his head, his brows furrowing with concern.
Sebastian: "What's going on?"
He asked, his deep voice breaking the silence. Lucan stopped a few meters away, trying to catch his breath, but his expression was clear: something was wrong. Very seriously wrong. He murmured, almost as if he feared the forest itself. He could hear him: "Kravenwolf... He escaped."
Sebastian: "What? That's impossible!" "It's impossible to escape the Prison of Shadows. It is protected by strong magic , and the witch is dead. How can that be possible?"
Lucan: "Someone else must have helped him, but who?"
Sebastian: "Let's go to the Prison of Shadows with part of the pack. Don't alert anyone for now."
Lucan: "But-"
Sebastian: "No discussion."
Sebastian, Lucan, and the other members of the pack head to the Prison of Shadows .
They arrived at the Prison of Shadows . The place was dark and oppressive, filled with skeletons and scattered guts on the ground. The air was heavy, almost unbreathable , and each step echoed in the chilling silence .
Sebastian looked around, his sharp eyes scanning the darkness. Lucan, standing next to him, murmured: "This is... terrifying."
The pack advanced cautiously, their instincts on high alert , searching for clues to understand how Kravenwolf managed to escape.
Lucan: "What is that?"
Sebastien: "Let me see."
Sebastien looked closely and realized it was a piece of fabric. Lucan felt an indescribable terror, as he had never known such horror. One of the pack members had found something.
It bore deep claw marks and emitted a strange odor. Night was beginning to fall. Sebastien said, "We will meet again tomorrow," before heading back.
He returned to the dark and oppressive cave, where faint echoes resonated. The air was heavy, and the darkness enveloped every corner of the hollow.
In the center of the pack stood Kael, young and inexperienced, his gaze oscillating between curiosity and apprehension.
Kael: "Who is Kravenwolf?"
A quiet and mocking laughter rose from the crowd as some exchanged worried glances. Torin, the veteran with a grave and confident tone, stepped forward slightly, fixing his intense gaze on Kael.
Torin: "You're new."
Kael, visibly intimidated, replied hesitantly: Kael: "Yes..."
Torin continued, his words echoing in the shadows, carrying the authority and weight of an ancestral secret:
Torin: "I see... Listen carefully. I will tell you, but it is strictly forbidden to speak of him or utter his name. Whoever dares to break this rule will be severely punished, and no one must awaken the dark hopes tied to this taboo."
A heavy silence fell over the pack as the echoes of his words blended with the ominous whispers of the cave, and the shadow of Kravenwolf seemed to loom menacingly in every dark corner.
Torin: "Kravenwolf's father was a legendary hero.
He died valiantly in a battle against humans, who were unaware of the existence of werewolves and considered their world a myth. His heroic death is still told among the pack as a symbol of bravery and sacrifice."
Moreover, the family history is steeped in passion and destiny. Kravenwolf's mother and Sebastien's father met under circumstances as unexpected as they were magical. Their meeting gave birth to a deep love, a bond that transcended quarrels and tragedies. This love, despite the obstacles, marked the origins of these two lineages, heralding a destiny intertwined with both light and shadow.
Kravenwolf was a wise werewolf; he helped the pack whenever they encountered problems.
Sebastien and he were like blood brothers, inseparable, until the day came when it was time to reveal who would be the new Alpha.
The tension was palpable in the clearing, where daylight barely filtered through the towering trees. All eyes were fixed on her, Kravenwolf's mother, an imposing and respected figure within the pack. Her voice resonated through the silence, deep and assured: "Sebastien is now our Alpha."
Kravenwolf, who stood apart, froze for a moment. His expression shifted from astonishment to uncontrollable fury. He took a heavy step forward, his muscles taut, his breathing quickening: "How could this be?" he roared, his voice vibrating with disbelief. "How is this possible? My blood is just as pure as his! If anyone was meant to be Alpha, it was me!"
His sharp words echoed, leaving the pack in a nervous silence. The wolves exchanged uneasy glances, aware that this confrontation could shatter the fragile balance of the pack. Kravenwolf's mother turned her gaze to him, filled with both sorrow and resolve.
"This is not about blood, Kravenwolf. Being Alpha isn't only about heritage but about heart and deeds. Sebastien has proven himself ready."
But her words only fueled Kravenwolf's anger further. His fists clenched, his eyes gleamed with a wild light. He slowly turned, casting a cold glare at the pack: "So that's how it is? You choose to betray me? You will see. One day, you will regret this decision."
Without another word, Kravenwolf stormed into the forest, his silhouette disappearing into the shadows, leaving behind a divided pack and an uncertain future.
The long-awaited day of the ceremony had finally arrived. The pack had gathered beneath the ancient trees of the sacred clearing, where the air seemed charged with mystical energy. Sebastien stood at the center, exuding the aura of an Alpha ready to guide his people toward a promising future. But in the shadows, Kravenwolf watched, consumed by anger and jealousy.
As the ceremonial chants echoed in the air, Kravenwolf stepped forward, his face twisted in fury and defiance. The members of the pack froze, sensing that something unusual was about to happen."You made a mistake by underestimating me," growled Kravenwolf. Before anyone could react, he raised his arms, summoning a dark force. The Reflection of the Void, an ancient magical illusion that protected the pack from humans, trembled under his power.
In an instant, the protective barrier shattered with a terrifying crash, revealing a clearing where werewolves stood together in both human and beastly forms. Outside, curious humans, who until then had been unable to see beyond the illusion, began to approach, both fascinated and alarmed by what they saw. The safety of the pack was now at risk.
Sebastien, seeing the panic in his people's eyes, stepped between Kravenwolf and the pack. "What have you done, Kravenwolf?" he thundered, his voice resonating like a clap of thunder. "You've doomed our people!"
Kravenwolf smirked darkly. "No, Sebastien. You doomed them when you betrayed me."
Chaos erupted as some wolves prepared to defend the clearing, while others desperately tried to flee before the humans arrived. Sebastien knew he had to act quickly. What was supposed to be a celebration of the pack's unity had turned into a nightmare.
Chaos had engulfed the forest after the illusion was destroyed. The humans, panicked by the sudden revelation of the werewolves' existence, reacted violently. Some members of the pack were killed, while others were captured to be subjected to scientific experiments. Fear and anger had spread among the survivors.
Amid this turmoil, Kravenwolf's mother watched in horror as a human aimed a weapon at her son. Despite her resentment toward him, her maternal instinct took over. Without hesitation, she rushed forward, pushing Kravenwolf out of the bullet's path. The shot rang out, piercing her body. She collapsed, her breathing shallow, as Kravenwolf, shocked, stared at his mother with tears streaming down his face.
In her final moments, she faintly whispered, "Protect... the pack... Do what is right." Then her eyes closed forever.
The pack's sorceress, using the last fragments of her magical strength, managed to restore the illusion, shielding the sacred clearing once more from human sight. But the damage had already been done.
Back in the cave, tension was at its peak. The pack members spoke with anger and fear. A voice rose: "Because of you, Kravenwolf, my daughter and I are in danger! My family will never be safe!" Another replied: "It's because of this betrayal that we've lost our loved ones."
Sebastien, standing in the center of the cave, observed the growing division among his people. He stomped his foot violently on the ground, demanding silence. His deep voice echoed in the dim light: "Enough!"
Everyone fell silent, watching him with a mix of respect and dread.
Sebastien turned to Kravenwolf, whose face showed a blend of rage and guilt. "You, Kravenwolf, by your betrayal, have endangered the lives of the pack and caused the death of your own mother. For this crime, you will be imprisoned in the Prison of Shadows."
The words were heavy and irrevocable. Two members of the pack approached to take Kravenwolf away. He did not resist but cast one last icy glance at Sebastien. "One day, you'll understand..." he murmured before being taken into the darkness.
Though the pack was once again shielded by the illusion, they were marked by loss and betrayal. A new era was beginning, but the weight of this day would continue to haunt their spirits.
"This is Kravenwolf's story. Now, sleep. Tomorrow, we will return to the Prison of Shadows."
Kael: "Alright, thank you."
Torin: "You're welcome."
The next day, Sebastien and the rest of the pack returned to the Prison of Shadows. They searched the area, examining every corner, but found nothing unusual. Sebastien's eyes scanned the oppressive darkness, looking for clues in vain.
After a long and fruitless investigation, the pack decided to return to the cave, their hearts heavy and their minds filled with unanswered questions.
Sebastien entered the cave, his face marked by fatigue and the weight of worries pressing heavily on his shoulders. At the center, Selena awaited him, her soft, piercing gaze lighting up the darkness.
Sebastien: "My Luna, are you okay?"
Selena, with a reassuring smile but a hint of concern in her eyes, replied gently:"Sebastien... you're finally back. What happened?"
He approached her, taking her hands in his, and murmured: "The pack is safe for now, but Kravenwolf has left scars-not just on our lands, but in our hearts. I need you, Selena. Now more than ever."
Selena placed a calming hand on his cheek. "We'll face this together, Sebastien. The pack needs you, your strength. But don't forget that you, too, can rely on me."
Their eyes met, a moment suspended between them, where trust and love prevailed despite the looming shadows around them.
Selena lowered her eyes slightly, hesitating, as if the weight of her thoughts made her breath heavier. She slowly lifted her head, locking her gaze with Sebastien's.
Selena: "I need to tell you something... but I don't know if it's the right time."
Sebastien frowned slightly, detecting the unease in her voice. He gently took her hands in his.
Sebastien: "Selena, whatever it is, you can tell me. You know I'm here, for you, for us."
She took a deep breath, searching for her words, but remained silent for a moment, as if she were fighting an inner battle to find the strength to speak.
Selena hesitated for a moment but took a deep breath, gathering her courage.
Selena: "Sebastien... I'm pregnant."
Time seemed to stop in the cave.
Sebastien froze, his eyes wide, his mind struggling to grasp her words. A flood of emotions overwhelmed him: surprise, joy, but also concern.
Sebastien: "You... you're pregnant?"
he murmured, almost in disbelief. Selena nodded softly, a timid yet sincere smile lighting up her face. Selena: "Yes. We're going to have a child, Sebastien."
He tightened his grip on her hands, his eyes glistening with deep emotion.
Sebastien: "Selena, this is... it's incredible. But... with everything happening, do you feel safe?"
Selena placed a soothing hand on his arm.
Selena: "I trust you, Sebastien. I know you'll do everything to protect our family and the pack."
Sebastien nodded, his resolve firm.
Sebastien: "I promise that nothing and no one will harm you or our child. You are my priority."
The moment, though tinged by the tension of recent events, was filled with hope. Their bond seemed to grow stronger in the face of challenges, and this new revelation gave Sebastien even more reason to fight for his people.
59 days had passed without any news from Kravenwolf.
On the 60th day, Selena gave birth to a baby girl, whom she named Elara Saphira Roman. The arrival of the child brought a glimmer of hope to the pack, briefly lifting the shadow of recent events. Selena, overflowing with pride, decided to celebrate the happy event by organizing a party in honor of her daughter.
Meanwhile, in a remote forest hideout, a somber atmosphere lingered. Torin found Kravenwolf sitting in the shadows, his gaze fixed on an invisible point, filled with silent anger.
Torin: "Kravenwolf!"
Kravenwolf: "What?"
Torin: "I was helping you escape, and that's how you talk to me?"
Kravenwolf: his cold tone chilled the air "You've forgotten who you're talking to." He paused before asking, "Any news?"
Torin: "Yes. Selena is organizing a party for her daughter. It will be the perfect opportunity to put our plan into action."
Kravenwolf: a dark smile spreading across his face "You're right. Get ready. The time has come."
At dusk, Selena tenderly admired her daughter, Elara. Elara's black hair shone in the soft light, and her fair skin looked almost ethereal.
Sebastien joined her, observing their child, and murmured, "She's adorable when she sleeps, just like her mother."
Selena smiled, but her smile faded when she noticed a strange mark on Elara's skin.
Selena: "Sebastien, look!"
Sebastien approached, his face filled with perplexity.
Sebastien: "No way..." She has the mark."
Sebastien, his expression darkening, left the room and went to his library. Frantically, he searched through the pages of an ancient book.
Sebastien : "I've found it! This mark is called Lunargis. It's a fusion of the moon and Argis. In Greek, Argis means protection and strength. The mark represents fierce hope under the full moon."
Selena, worried, placed her hand on his shoulder.
Selena : "No one must know she has the mark. It could put her in danger."
Sebastien : "You're right. We need to be careful."
The next day, the party for Elara's birth lit up the clearing. Lights danced between the trees, and the clear sky added to the festive atmosphere. The guests were numerous, their laughter and voices echoing joyfully. Their arms were full of gifts, and they approached Selena and Sebastien to congratulate the family.
Lucan, his gaze vigilant, approached Sebastien.
Lucan: "Hello, Sebastien."
Sebastien, anxious, responded in a low voice: "Hello. We must be cautious... I have a bad feeling."
Lucan: "Okay. I'll stay alert."
The party continued joyfully until the opening of the gifts. A mysterious box caught everyone's attention. When the person holding the box opened it, a deadly poison was released, and they collapsed under the horrified gazes of the guests.
Suddenly, a voice rose.
Kravenwolf: "What a shame..." This box was intended for my niece, Elara."
Sebastien, his gaze burning with anger, turned to him: "Don't touch my daughter!"
Kravenwolf laughed arrogantly: "She's my niece, after all. Fine, I'll touch her."
Sebastien: "What do you want?"
Kravenwolf: "You know very well."
Sebastien: "You'll never have her. You'll have to get through me first."
Kravenwolf: "So be it."
Their cries of rage and blows echoed through the clearing. The guests, shocked, moved aside, leaving the two enemies to fight with fierce rage.
Amid the chaos, Kravenwolf shouted: "Torin!" Obeying the signal, Torin began executing their plan. But Lucan noticed his movement and followed him.
Lucan: "Where are you going, you dirty traitor? Leaving the party already?"
Torin, without turning around: "No, why leave? It's just getting started."
Lucan: "Why have you become such an idiot?"
Torin burst into laughter: "You're the idiot. You understand nothing about power."
Lucan: "Power? Is that why you've become Kravenwolf's lapdog? I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget."
Without hesitation, Lucan and Torin lunged at each other, battling with savage brutality. Their blows echoed through the air, drawing the attention of the still-stunned guests.
Kravenwolf, frustrated by Torin's failure to execute their plan, exploded with rage. His terrifying screams echoed through the clearing. With a powerful gesture, he activated his own plan, and in an instant, all the guests were turned to stone. Their petrified bodies stood like silent statues, their expressions of terror frozen on their faces.
However, the spell spared Sebastien, Lucan, Selena, Torin, and Elara. As Sebastien began to feel his body turn to stone, Selena intervened courageously. In a selfless and heroic act, she took his place and shielded their child. Sacrificing her freedom, Selena was petrified. Her last words were: "Protect our daughter. She is our light."
With Selena now turned to stone, Sebastien rose, fury boiling inside him. Meanwhile, Torin, obeying Kravenwolf's orders, shattered the protective illusion that hid the cave from human eyes. A supernatural glow faded as the spell dissipated, leaving the refuge vulnerable.
Lucan confronted Torin, challenging him directly. "You'll pay for your betrayal," he shouted. Torin laughed darkly, "You're the fool, unable to understand the power Kravenwolf can offer!" The two men clashed violently, the sound of their battle echoing through the clearing.
Simultaneously, Sebastien fought against Kravenwolf. Their duel was marked by fierce intensity; each blow carried anger and desperation. But despite Sebastien's bravery, Kravenwolf managed to land a fatal strike. As Sebastien began turning to stone, he murmured his final words to Lucan, "Protect my daughter... she bears the mar-." He perished before finishing his sentence.
Kravenwolf and Torin, believing they had won, stood triumphant. But Lucan, summoning his last strength, grabbed Elara and prepared to flee."You won't get away," roared Kravenwolf as he attacked Lucan.
Lucan narrowly dodged the assault, his heart pounding furiously. As Kravenwolf struck again, Lucan made a desperate decision. He leaped into the nearby river with Elara in his arms.
Thanks to Torin's shattering of the illusion, the river, which led directly to the human world, was now accessible. Lucan managed to escape, taking Elara far away from immediate danger. As the current carried them toward the unknown, Lucan vowed to protect Selena and Sebastien's daughter at all costs.
