Dirty Little Game 🫦
Staring out the window, I let the café sounds fade into the background-the clinking cups, the murmur of voices, none of it touches me. My thoughts drift, disconnected from the world around me, until the creak of the chair in front of me pulls me back to reality.
I glance up, and there she is. Maya. The woman who shattered my life. The sight of her makes my stomach churn. How does she sit there so calmly, like she hasn't done anything wrong? Her confident gaze meets mine, as if she's innocent in all of this. It's laughable.
"Let's not drag this out. What do you want, Akira?" Her voice is cold, her eyebrow raised in a mock challenge. My anger flares, but I keep my voice steady.
"What do I want? Are you seriously asking that?" I can't help the bitter twist of my lips. Is she pretending not to know? "I want your husband."
Her expression falters for a split second, shock flickering in her eyes. She knew, of course, but my boldness seems to have caught her off guard.
"You're bold, Akira, I'll give you that. But do you really think I'm going to let you take my husband?" She laughs, dismissive, as if the thought is beneath her.
"Do you really think I'll ask for your permission?". I said
Maya stands abruptly, the legs of the chair scraping loudly against the floor. She leans across the table, palms flat on the surface, closing the distance between us. "I'll tell Thomas exactly what kind of woman you are," she spits, her voice low and venomous. "Then let's see if you can even look him in the face again."
She grabs her bag, sunglasses sliding over her eyes as she prepares to leave. But my words stop her in her tracks.
"Go ahead. Tell him." My voice is sharp, slicing through her false bravado. "But don't forget to tell him everything."
She freezes, her hand tightening around the strap of her bag. For a moment, she doesn't move, doesn't breathe. Then, slowly, she turns to look at me, her sunglasses slipping just enough to reveal the uncertainty in her gaze.
"Tell him you were cheating on him with my husband."
