Chapter One (Camilla)

Camilla's POV:

Me and Evie were in her room, getting ready for a halloween party. I was going as a vampire and she was going as an angel. I already had my costume on and I was doing my makeup while Evie was curling my hair. “Why do we even have to go to this party? It’s gonna be the same as last year.” I ask Evie as I finish my makeup. “Because it’s Halloween, it's basically tradition.” Evie said, finishing my curls and sitting down to do her makeup. “Well don’t you two look fancy.” Kieran said, leaning against the door frame. Kieran is Evie’s annoying twin brother. He was dressed up as a werewolf. “We’re getting ready, get out!” Evie said, trying to close the door on him but he put his hand on the door, stopping it from closing. “Why should I?” He asked, looking at me as I put my fake fangs on my teeth. “Don’t bite me” He said in a playful tone. “If you don’t get out I will.” I said, flashing my fangs at him. “See you at the party.” He said, putting his hands up and walking out, finally letting Evie close the door. “Guys are so annoying, and stupid.” Evie said, starting her makeup again. “You almost done? The party starts soon.” I asked as she finished putting a hairclip in her hair. “And….done!” She says after putting in her claw clip just the way she usually does. “Then let's go before I decide to ditch you there” I say, grabbing my bag and walking towards the front door.

Once we get to the party, people are already just as drunk as the year before, dancing on tables and looking like idiots. “Some things never change, we’re still surrounded by idiots.” Evie says as she hands me a drink. “What’s in this?” I ask, eyeing it. “It’s beer, drink up.” She says as she downs hers, almost falling. I laugh and drink mine.

About an hour later, Evie was already drunk and trying to flirt with some ginger boy I had seen around school, but never talked to. “Evie, stop embarrassing yourself.” I said as I pulled her arm away. “Sorry, she’s drunk.” I told the ginger boy. He just laughed. “I can tell, my name’s Jason.” he said. “I like that name.” Evie said in a very drunk way. I called Kieran over. “Help me with your sister, I’ll drive her back.” I told him. He was used to giving me orders. Me and Kieran grabbed her arms and basically carried her outside. I was checking her pupils, which were dilated from the alcohol, when we heard a scream from the other side of the building. Kieran took off running in the direction it came from. Evie got up barely and ran after him, so I didn’t have a choice but to run after them both. When me and Evie got over there, Kieran was standing there, frozen in place. “Kieran? What's going on?” I said. But Evie walked over before I could stop her. She screamed and started crying. I walked over to see what it was. It was their uncle, gutted and his eyes ripped out of his head. I quickly ran over to Evie and hugged her, trying to get her to look away. Just then, the ginger boy Evie was talking to ran over, clearly having heard her scream. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the body. “What the fuck…” Jason said under his breath. “Did you guys kill him or something?” He asked. “No, that's their uncle. Call the police.” I said, still trying to comfort Evie. He quickly took his phone out and called the police. Soon the police and everyone else was at the scene. They didn’t bother asking us questions because they had security footage. I decided to stay the night at their house that night. “Do you need a ride home?” Kieran asked Jason. “I’ll be fine.” Jason said. So I drove me, Kieran, and Evie back to their house.
