Summary

Six centuries ago, the village of Ako sought power and prosperity. Its price was high with strict conditions. Over time, the village became distinguished, but everything changed when the elders found out the pact with the gods was broken. Some guardians and the chief had betrayed their trust, selling a sacred artifact for twenty million dollars. This artifact was headed across Asia for a ritual sacrifice intended for immortality. With support from the state and Interpol, they race against time through Asian cities to recover the item. Elder Ukwa is desperate to reclaim it, even if it risks his team's lives. His clever strategy leads them to Russia, where they confront the traffickers and manage to overpower them to retrieve the artifact. They plan to return to Africa via a crashing plane to begin the purification, while mercenaries and military forces stand ready in their home village, which is mostly deserted. As they fight through rough conditions to reach the cleansing site, they are met by mercenaries but are saved by the military. Elder Ukwa then releases the artifact, transforming the ominous atmosphere and ending the threat to their village, as a new ruler is to be crowned.

KING ON THE EMPTY THRONE (Part I)

Scripted by WANKI NDIFONKA

INTRODUCTION

It is nightfall at Ako village. The roosters had long stopped crowing and gone to sleep to begin later very early the following morning. The night has a very unusual calmness and the villagers prefer to stay in the various homes and huts rather than be at the village square. At the palace, there is a big fire lit but the chief masquerade failed to show up. Upon enquiry, he was told to do so by the chief priest. The village is in great sort of turmoil. Jones just finished his police academic training and is posted to his own village to carry out his duties as an officer. It is not the petty thieves that do worry him or the constant wars between the polygamous wives, or the reckless youths who dream of a free life in the cities. The problem comes from the palace; to bring the village back to order, he has to get to the root of the problem.
