Chapter 1

They ran deep into the forest, with the entire village chasing behind them. They ran as fast as they could-was it endless, or just their fear playing tricks? Then, finally, there it was: the hill. Everything stopped. They froze as the village drew closer. This was not how it was supposed to happen......

Long ago, in the sacred village of Maithramkavu, a girl chosen as the Goddess was worshipped like a living deity. Once selected, she would live in the temple until her death, forbidden from love or marriage, destined to carry the village's devotion alone.

On the day of selection, five girls-Geeta, Lakshmi, Radhika, remya, and Tarunika-stood in fear, awaiting their fate. They were bathed in milk and holy water, then led into the temple cave for the final ritual: they would sleep a whole day, and whoever saw the Goddess in their dreams would become the next living deity.

As the night deepened, Tarunika awoke in fear. Chosen like her sister before her, she now faces a terrifying question: will she escape her fate, or be bound forever as the Goddess of Maithramkavu?
