💠Since Vamika is Bengali, this story weaves Bengali phrases into dialogues and rituals to keep the characters authentic to their roots. These include:

• Traditions like Aiburobhat (a pre-wedding feast):Aiburobhat is a special pre-wedding meal and blessing ceremony for the bride or groom. Traditionally held the day before the wedding—since the bride fasts on the wedding day until the rituals are complete—it is now often celebrated weeks, even months, in advance. Friends and extended family invite the bride-to-be into their homes, pampering her with food, love, and blessings.

Family terms such as:

• Thakurma/Thamma →Grandmother (paternal side). [Vamika calls her grandmother “Thamma.“]

• Thakurda/Dadu →Grandfather (paternal side)

• Dada & Boudi→ Elder brother & Sister-in-law

• Jamai →Son-in-law

• Mami →Maternal uncle’s wife

• Mama →Maternal uncle (mother’s brother)

• Jethu →Paternal uncle (father’s elder brother)

• Kaku →Paternal uncle (father’s younger brother)

• Pisi/Pisi-maa →Paternal aunt (sometimes used affectionately). [Her paternal aunt has passed away, but Vamika used to call her “Pisi Maa.“]

💠Language note (Bengali):Most of the time, when Vamika is angry or emotional, she naturally slips into Bengali. This is an important part of her cultural identity and how she expresses herself most authentically. Don’t worry, I will always provide subtitles.

💠Language note (Italian):Since Yatharv spent years in Italy, he occasionally switches to Italian in moments of intensity, authority, or affection. This reflects his mafia roots, though he uses it far less often than Vamika. Subtitles will be included whenever Italian appears.
