๐Ÿ’กNote on the Female Lead:

I know female leads in romance often face harsh criticism, but please remember: this is fiction. The female leadโ€™s choices, reactions, and personality are shaped by this story, this world, and her journey. She is written to reflect her circumstances, not to meet every readerโ€™s expectations. At times she will be strong, at times vulnerable, and at times she will make mistakes. That doesnโ€™t make her less or weak, it makes her human. Please respect her for what she is:a character living her own story, not a stereotype.

๐Ÿ’กBefore You Criticize:

I know some readers get curious and start asking questions too soonโ€”โ€œWhereโ€™s the twist? I thought this would happen. Why hasnโ€™t that happened yet?โ€ Please understand that every story has its own pace. The answers, twists, and turns are woven into the journey, and they will reveal themselves in time. Trust the process, and let the story unfold the way itโ€™s meant to.

Also, remember this is an on going story.Constructive criticism is always welcome, but it makes far more sense once the full story has been told. Early chapters donโ€™t always reflect the entire journey.

๐Ÿ’กNote on Fiction vs Reality:

Please Remember:If you come into this story, come with an Open Heart. The characters are flawed, messy, obsessive, possessive, and morally grey. Love here often hurts before it heals, making the journey haunting, turbulent, and deeply emotional.

Fiction is not reality. The situations, relationships, and characters in this book are shaped for storytelling, not as models for real life. Comparing them to reality and leaving hate only takes away from the storyโ€™s purpose. If you cannot separate fiction from reality, then this may not be the right book for you.

Before you dive into the story, here are a few things you should know. Theyโ€™ll help you understand the world, the culture, and the journey ahead.

๐Ÿ’ Since Vamika is Bengali, this story weaves Bengali phrases into dialogues and rituals to keep the characters authentic to their roots. These include:

โ€ข Traditions like Aiburobhat (a pre-wedding feast):Aiburobhat is a special pre-wedding meal and blessing ceremony for the bride or groom. Traditionally held the day before the weddingโ€”since the bride fasts on the wedding day until the rituals are completeโ€”it is now often celebrated weeks, even months, in advance. Friends and extended family invite the bride-to-be into their homes, pampering her with food, love, and blessings.

Family terms such as:

โ€ข Thakurma/Thamma โ†’Grandmother (paternal side). [Vamika calls her grandmother โ€œThamma.โ€œ]

โ€ข Thakurda/Dadu โ†’Grandfather (paternal side)

โ€ข Dada & Boudiโ†’ Elder brother & Sister-in-law

โ€ข Jamai โ†’Son-in-law

โ€ข Mami โ†’Maternal uncleโ€™s wife

โ€ข Mama โ†’Maternal uncle (motherโ€™s brother)

โ€ข Jethu โ†’Paternal uncle (fatherโ€™s elder brother)

โ€ข Kaku โ†’Paternal uncle (fatherโ€™s younger brother)

โ€ข Pisi/Pisi-maa โ†’Paternal aunt (sometimes used affectionately). [Her paternal aunt has passed away, but Vamika used to call her โ€œPisi Maa.โ€œ]

โ€ข Masi โ†’Maternal aunt (motherโ€™s sister)

๐Ÿ’ Language note (Bengali):Most of the time, when Vamika is angry or emotional, she naturally slips into Bengali. This is an important part of her cultural identity and how she expresses herself most authentically. Donโ€™t worry, I will always provide subtitles.

๐Ÿ’ Language note (Italian):Since Yatharv spent years in Italy, he occasionally switches to Italian in moments of intensity, authority, or affection. This reflects his mafia roots, though he uses it far less often than Vamika. Subtitles will be included whenever Italian appears.

(The Italian words and dialogues sprinkled throughout this story were translated with Google Translate, so they may not be 100% accurate. They are here to add cultural depth and flavor, not to teach perfect Italian so take them with love, not grammar rules.๐Ÿ’•)
