The Kims and Jeons
The Kims are the richest family of South Korea. The family head Kim Namjoon and his wife Kim Jinnie are the power couple of elite society. They only have one child Kim Aereum. Being the only son of his own parents Namjoon knows the consequences of being the only heir of the richest businessan. His childhood was full of dangers that brought trauma so devastating he still gets nightmare sometimes. He was bullied in school just because he was the rich kid who was also intelligent. He was told time and again that he doesn't deserve love because he had money. Those were some stupid notions made by the kids around his age he knew that but that doesn't make it hurt any less. That's why he decided he will protect his child with everything he had but he won't let them face the cruelty of this world. So when Aereum was born he decided the exact same day that she will be homeschooled. When she started to grow up and showed signs of intelligence that was impossible for her age he contacted his doctor friend and arranged for a psychological test and his fear was confirmed. She was a gifted child. A genius with an IQ of 148 at the age of 6. That made him even more protective towards her. And now at twelve years old she is the one struggling with his protective nature. She doesn't understand why she can't go out without the four bodyguards flanking her like some royalty. She is tired of being constantly watched over. She feels like a prisoner in her own home. The home that was supposed to make her feel safe suffocated her sometimes. The only time that she feels like herself is when Jungkook visits. And he visits everyday to ease her discomfort. She had begged her father to be left alone when she is with Jungkook. And he granted. So whenever Jungkook visits her caretaker and personal gaurd leaves her alone. Jungkook is the only son of The Jeons. The only heir of the second richest family of Korea. But he was an introvert. That's why even if he goes to school he doesn't have much friends and he doesn't trust anyone easily. Jeons and Kims had been friends for two generations. And the third being Jungkook and Aereum that family friendship was still intact. Aereum finds solace in Jungkook's company who tells her stories about the school and Jungkook feels free whenever he is with Aereum. There is a sense of understanding and dependency on each other for the comfort they need. Aereum is deprived of freedom and Jungkook brings that freedom for her. On the other hand Jungkook is deprived of love from his parents as they are always busy. That love is given by Aereum and her parents. Jinnie treats Jungkook like her own son and Jungkook shares all of his secrets with her. He sees Namjoon as his mentor and wants to become like him one day. Namjoon and Jinnie love their daughter and Jungkook the same way. They are glad to have Jungkook as he seems to ease Aereum with his stories.
