Prologue

The email came up early that morning. Sylva Michaels sat up on her bed,her messy hair falling over her face as she blinked at her phone screen. There it was-

*"Congratulations! You've been admitted into Belfast University."* For a few seconds, she just sat staring, not moving, not breathing, like her mind needed time to catch up with what her eyes were seeing.

Then she screamed.Loud enough to wake her parents downstairs.

She jumped off her bed, laughing and crying all at once.Months of waiting,hoping,praying-it had finally paid off.Belfast University. Her dream school.

"You got in,didn't you?"Her mom asked.

"Yes I did mom,I did."

Her father grinned proudly from behind the newspapers he was reading."

"Dad,are you listening to me? I said I got in,I finally did."

"I heard you darling, later in the day,I'll send some cash to your mother or I'll give her my card to get your stuff for College."

"Awwn, thank you Daddy,I love you so much."
