I was jolted awake by the chain around my neck being tugged. My eyes widen as I see a woman in front of me dressed in all black with a black vest and weird things around her stomach and chest. I knew one of them was something called a ‘gun.’
“Relax, you're safe now. No one's ever gonna hurt you again.”
I freeze and look up at her. She smiles sweetly. Her hair is pretty. Long blonde hair. All the men here let me touch their hair as they worked on me. She finished removing the tight chain around my neck and moved on to the other girls. We all had bruises on our necks from it that would last a while.
I had no friends here. We all were never allowed to talk. All the girls were way older than me. There were 32 of us in this very small room. I was the youngest here. There was only one small bed in the room. It was very hard and uncomfortable. The girl who was used the most that night got the bed. I mostly got the bed.
“Alright girls, everyone please go line up out in the hallway.”
One by one we all got up and lined up in the hallway. She stood at one end and slowly walked towards the other as she talked.
“You are all safe now. We found your families and contacted them. We will go down the line. Once it's your turn please step into the room at the end of the hall. You will be directed from there.”
We all nodded. That's all we really knew how to do. I waited for my turn. My legs ache. I hesitantly reached up and grabbed the girl's hand next to me. She jumped and looked down at me. Her eyes immediately softened. She gently squeezed my hand back.
She went into the room after the girl Infront of her. I was the last one. After forever I was finally able to go into the room that used to be the boss’s room…
