Welcome to Book 2 of Rhea and Miles’s story! I am so excited to continue this journey with you.
For those who are new or need a quick refresher, here is a brief recap of what happened in Book 1: A Stolen Fate:
BOOK ONE RECAP:
Rhea Chapman grew up in the Snowfall Pack as the neglected daughter, always overshadowed by her sister, Roxy, and starved of love from her mother, Lolita. Her life changed at fourteen when she secretly saved Miles Mondragon, the future Alpha, from drowning. They shared a brief but unforgettable moment, and he left her his necklace as a promise that he would remember her.
But when Miles returned four years later from his Alpha training, Rhea discovered that Roxy and her mother had stolen her story and her necklace. Because of their manipulation and lies, Miles believed Roxy was the girl who had saved him. Even when the mate bond appeared between Rhea and Miles, he rejected it because he thought Rhea was lying.
On the night of his coronation, Miles accidentally ended up with Rhea instead of Roxy, and they shared a night together. But by morning, he blamed her, threatened her, and told her to keep it secret. Weeks later, when Rhea learned she was pregnant, Roxy spread lies that Rhea had drugged Miles to sleep with her. The pack turned against Rhea, and Miles was forced by his parents to marry her because she carried their grandchild.
But the marriage was full of coldness, anger, and emotional pain. Rhea tried to make it work, but Miles only grew more distant. Eventually, due to Roxy’s interference and the pressure around her, Rhea tragically lost the baby. Roxy was then banished.
A year later, when Rhea became pregnant again, Miles accused her of trying to trap him, and during his absence, Rhea suffered another devastating miscarriage. Thinking he didn’t care, she finally left the pack.
Unknown to her, one of the twins survived.
Book One ended with Rhea gone, Miles unaware of the surviving child, and their paths separated—both shattered, both changed, and both unaware that fate would pull them together again in ways they never expected.
