"I was originally going to wait until I finished this book before leaving a review, but there’s absolutely no way I can wait that long. Viv is already one of my favorite authors on this app, and I’ve read every single one of her stories, but this one has officially become my favorite. By far. A huge part of that is Santo. I’m not even exaggerating when I say he’s the sexiest, most charming, most swoon-worthy book boyfriend I’ve ever read. He’s genuinely my favorite male lead from any book, ever. Ever. I’m completely obsessed with him. I am, in fact, a proud Santo simp. I could probably write an entire review just talking about him, but both Viv and this story deserve so much more than that. I’ll start by saying that the writing is incredible, which honestly comes as no surprise if you’ve read any of her other books. I also love that the characters have italian roots (being a mafia trope and all is obvious haha). It hits close to home and makes this story feel even more special to me. And I have to give Viv so much credit for the way she writes emotions, especially Santo’s. There’s something almost poetic about the way he expresses himself (and endearing). He completely stole my heart. Also... can we please talk about the spicy scenes? Good Lord. They are ridiculously hot, but what I love even more is that they never feel like they’re there just for the sake of it. They only highlight the incredible chemistry Santo and Fiorella already have. Their connection is just as strong outside the bedroom as it is in it, and that’s what makes every moment between them so addictive to read. I’m so invested in these two, and I honestly can’t wait to see where their story goes next. If you’re reading reviews trying to decide whether this book is worth your time, stop thinking and just start reading. You won’t regret it. And while you’re at it, read literally anything Viv has written. Every single one has been amazing. I’ll stop here before this turns into even more of a love letter than it already has. I can’t wait to see how this story ends, even though I already know I’m going to miss these characters like crazy. Then again, I can always read it all over again."
