Chapter 1
In a land once filled with beauty and magic, now fallen and forever cursed by shadows, still lived the last member of the kingdom’s royal guards, left uncorrupted, but also not completely pure and the same as once before. However, to come to how this story came to be, you need to know how the magic went from beauty and peace to corruption and chaos.
Speaker: Now, as our narrator tells this story, please remain quiet and respectful. Thank you for coming to listen to this story and enjoy it. Please listen to these few safety instructions before we get started. Please turn off all distractions, and make sure your child is with you at all times, parents. And please, if an emergency happens to occur, follow all the instructions your narrator gives to you. Thank you for listening, and let the story begin.
Hello everyone, I am your narrator now, let’s begin from the very start, in the Kingdom of Magic there was only peace and beauty until the King fell ill while on his deathbed he had to tell which of his three sons would be taking the throne unfortunately the Queen had only just passed due to an illness, the King passed short after before he could tell his sons who would be taking the throne and become the next king this caused a fight for the throne the king’s three sons fought and argued and due to that the magic turned into something much darker as they used the magic to fight one another the Guardian of Magic was enraged by the fighting and cursed the three brothers and the kingdom as well as punishing everyone in the kingdom, darkness took over the land withering everything in its way and the people now forever forced to wonder as undead zombies cursed by the shadows. However, one of the Guardian of Magics’ loyal students, who was also the king’s head guard, Raven, she was at the top of her class as the Guardian of Magics’ favourite student. However, when she made a deal with a demon known as Phantom, Phantom was a demon that looked like a demonic raven with giant raven-like wings and lots of dark feathers that radiated off darkness. Raven had made a deal with Phantom; she let Phantom’s consciousness fuse with her own consciousness, and they became one person, but with two minds. Phantom was the reason the Guardians’ curse hadn’t affected Raven.
Sorry, everyone, one second, I have to stop the story for a minute. I will be right back, though. Why don’t you all go to the snack area for complimentary snacks? Hey, author, the lights went out. Can you fix that, please, so I can get back to the story?
Really, narrator, you had to break the fourth wall? But yes, I will get it fixed. Just give me a minute to finish this idea with the story.
Thank you, author and sorry for breaking the fourth wall, but if I don’t, you never fix any of the issues in the story room. I can’t tell stories in the story world and tell them all the characters in the story world if YOU DON’T FIX THE ISSUES IN THE WORLD! God, like you, created me in your brain to help you make your stories flow. AND YOU CAN’T EVEN BOTHER TO JUST TURN YOUR BRAIN BACK ON SO YOU DON’T GET WRITERS BLOCK LIKE SERIOUSLY IT’S YOUR FAULT YOU GET WRITERS BLOCK ALL THE TIME!
The lights are fixed, happy, and it’s not my fault. I need to escape from life to the story world I created in my head because of the hell the real world is every day now. Stop complaining, you love the job you have in my mind, oh wait, I am talking to myself. Well, shit, I did it again, just get back to the story!
Ya ya, whatever ever I will go be a good narrator for your stories now, kids. The lights are fixed, so we can continue the story now, where were we? Ah, yes, we were at the part where I was explaining why Raven wasn’t affected by the curse.
Due to Raven not being affected by the Guardian of Magic’s curse, she was not cursed to be undead and to live in suffering; however, because she had fused with Phantom, she was now immortal because demons can’t die, they can only be trapped or sealed away. However, this could have been seen as a blessing, but to her it was a curse as well because she had to watch as everyone she knew became cursed by shadows and the curse of the undead, making them into walking undead shadow creatures. Raven went into hiding once the Guardian of Magic decided to make it so the now undead citizens of the kingdom would be their army and hunt Raven down, no matter the cost, before Raven could find any way to bring an end to this curse.
Alright, everyone, that’s all the time we have for today. Can’t wait to see you tomorrow! Hey, author, why did the world lose all its colours again?
It’s nothing, they will be back eventually…. Hopefully. Just go back to your work, ok, I’m fine.
Author, you’re not fine once the colours are gone; that means something is wrong. BESIDES AGAIN I AM. YOU, I AM LITERALLY YOUR INNER NARRATOR! So I know when something’s wrong, so spill the tea now!
Fine, fine, I will tell you what’s wrong… I have writer’s block again, and school stress is crazy!
Really, author, how do you get writer’s block so much, and also, you’re not stressed, you’re literally in bed with blankets!
Hey, shush blankets are comfy! And they are good to hide in when overwhelmed, so you be quiet!
Can we get back to the story author?
Ya, sure, whatever, just let me watch my shows! Wait, if you continue the story, I can’t pay attention to my show, no, you can’t continue the story. I want to relax, it’s no longer work time. I don’t want to focus on work when I am off work. Besides, it’s the final season. Wait, why the fuck am I arguing with the voice in my head? I am just talking to myself at this point! Uggggggggg!
And they shut me out, of course, I guess I could just tell the story to myself anyway, as the undead searched tirelessly for Raven, Phantom helped Raven to escape and taught her about how to use her new demonic powers. Raven, following Phantom’s instructions, went into hiding.
Hey, author, do we have to do a huge time jump? I feel like that’s so boring, and it always leaves so much unanswered!
We’re doing the time skip, I am not going to try to make up ideas for that time in hiding! Now, how about a five-year jump? It will let chaos happen, and there will be good actions because, honestly, this is dragging too much.
Oh come on, author, you know that time skips suck, and it’s only for you to get to the next chapter without trying to make this one longer.
Uggg fine, we will wait for a time skip you want me to like describe the hideout that reminds me I got a meeting on Code: Error god I need to stop putting that story off I had great plans for it but I have hit a roadblock hmm what if we merge these stories like Raven runs away from this world to the human and is actually Erin that’s not a bad idea.
Author, that’s not a bad idea, BUT YOU HAVE WORK FOR THIS STORY, NOT CODE: ERROR! Now, can we get back to the story at hand?
Ya we can get back to the story at hand, just let me get to my desk so I can get my writing stuff. Wait, why am I talking to myself again? Oh, well, the story must go on.
Raven went to the hideout Phantom had told her to. The hideout was hidden in the mountains in a forest. Hidden away in the mountains stood a huge petrified tree, which was hollow on the inside where a Phantom had been sealed before the seal had weakened enough that made it so Phantom was able to break free. Raven explored around and noticed that the tree used to be Phantom’s home. Raven looked around, and Phantom told her where everything was. As the years went by, in hiding, Raven kept training, but during those years, the Guardian of Magic’s curse only grew as the Guardian’s rage and anger only kept growing; they never stopped looking for Raven, and the curse spread through the world, affecting Kingdom after Kingdom.
