Chapter 1

Chapter -1 The (not so) meet cute

It was my first day in the new city… so much bigger than my hometown. I got the hint as soon as I entered the school that it won’t be an easy game to fit in here.

I entered my dorm.. only to find two very different girls settling in. “Hi! I am vidisha jain but my friends call me VJ “ said the bubbly girl with an astonishingly well dressing sense. She was from a nearby city from my hometown… but the kids in my hometown were not as cool as her. Then my face turned towards the other girl. “And you are??” I asked.. “I’m Taniya” . She looked kinda older than us which we later revealed that she failed an year or so in her younger days.

Tani left the dorm to visit her parents for the weekend .. so it was just me and vj. Vj has some of her old friends who also got in the same school as us. She wanted to visit them and asked if I would like to tag along. I didn’t have anything better to do so I said yes, though I was a bit nervous. We went to Starbucks. It was my first time in a Starbucks as it was not available in my hometown but I tried my best to pretend that it wasn’t. Two guys were supposed to show up Agastya and Pranit, but only one of them did. Me,Agastya and Vj surprisingly got along and had fun.

That day passed. The next day, Vj told me Agastya keeps asking about me. Me being new to all this, did like the attention.. specially from someone who was conventionally cooler than me.

Some days passed. It was another weekend being just me and Vj. Taniya again went to see her parents( pros of living close to family I guess). Vj and I were talking and she mentioned that she promised Agastya that just like every year she will tie him a rakhi. They had this tradition since they were little, as Agastya didn’t have any sisters. She asked me to join them too. I was anyway excited to be able to socialise, as growing up I was a really lonely kid and was mostly bullied all through school. This new high school experience was my only chance to make some good school life memories. Having said that.. I didn’t expect this experience to be sneaking inside the boys dorm. But Vj looked so confident.. as if she has done this a thousand times. We climbed up a spiral RNA looking stairs and reached the dorm. We crossed a few rooms while ignoring the half naked guys in the way. Vj really knew her way through the dorms. Then we reached Agastya’s room. Vj knocked frantically till the gate was finally unlocked by a medium height ,nerdy looking, fair skinned guy. Vj pushed the door in his face and moved inside. That was the first time we met. He looked confused seeing a random girl barging into his room unexpectedly. It was Agastya’s roommate and Vj’s old friend Pranit.
