Seattle, USA

Seattle smelled like rain as usual, but the night wasn't an ordinary night for Ethan Carter. His life collapsed in front of seventy thousand people.

One wrong step.

One sharp twist.

One sound he would never forget—the sickening crack that stole the stadium’s breath.

The rising star of Seattle Storm FC fell to the turf, clutching his knee, pain exploding through him like fire.

He had fought his way here from an ordinary middle class background — a kid who grew up in Seattle, won a scholarship on the other side of the country, and clawed his way to professional glory. And now, in one instant, the future he had built with blood and grit shattered.

He didn’t know that across the country, in a cramped New York City dorm room, a girl named Anya Rao-Henderson was watching the same match with her roommate live on her laptop, whispering a Telugu prayer she barely understood as she pressed a hand to her chest.

He didn’t know she would soon be returning to Seattle — her hometown, his hometown — for a physiotherapy internship at the very club where his future was now hanging by a thread.

He didn’t know she would become the only person who could put him back together.

And she definitely didn’t know that healing him would heal her as well..

For, fate had a surprise neither of them saw coming..
