Class 3B. Afternoon. Fog outside. Lights flicker.

Kenji: Why are you staring outside like that
Rin: The fog wasn’t there before.
Daigo: Bro it’s just weather relax.
Kaito: No. The temperature dropped unnaturally fast.
Bobby: The only thing dropping fast is my will to live in detention.
[Snack wrapper suddenly pops]
Daigo: Bobby. Stop.
Bobby: That was the wrapper. It has anxiety issues.
Kenji: You have anxiety issues.
[Door opens. Mr Kanda enters.]
Mr Kanda: Phones. Hand over everything.
Bobby: Goodbye social life.
[Phones taken. Mr Kanda steps out.]
CLICK. The door locks.
Bobby: Did he just lock us in like a horror movie
[A short scream echoes from far down the hallway.]
Daigo: That was a scream.
Kaito: East wing. Female. Sudden fear spike.
Bobby: Probably Daigo’s math teacher again.
Daigo: Say that again.
[Lights flicker. Fog thickens outside the window.]
THUD.
Kenji: That sound wasn’t normal.
Bobby: If something jumps out, Daigo is my human shield.
Daigo: Try it. Watch what happens.
Kaito: The impact was strong. Not a fall.
[FLASHBACK START]
[Recess. The Ten Demons of Class E surround them.]
Bobby: Goro. Tatsuya. Kazu. Jin. Bro after Jin they all look like final bosses.
Kenji: Rin. Don’t fall behind.
Rin: Don’t get left behind.
Daigo: Let’s go then.
Kaito: Daigo. Sweep their legs. Their center of mass is unstable.
Daigo: English Kaito. English.
[The Ten Demons rush in.]
Rin: One down.
Kenji: Two.
Rin: Three.
Kenji: Four.
Daigo: Make that five.
[Bobby punches a bully. His fist bounces off.]
Bobby: OW. Why is your body built like a refrigerator.
[Bobby gets grabbed.]
Bobby: HELP. HE’S LIFTING ME LIKE A BAG OF RICE.
Kenji: Get your hands off him.
[Kenji slams the bully down.]
Bobby: If I die tell people I had abs.
Kenji: You don’t.
[The boys defeat all ten bullies.]
Mr Kanda: ENOUGH. All of you. Detention.
[FLASHBACK ENDS]
[Back to Class 3B.]
Bobby: So unfair. We were defending ourselves.
Daigo: Save it. He never listens.
Kaito: The fog level increased again.
Rin: Something is wrong outside.
THUD. Harder this time.
Kenji: Something is out there.
Bobby: Nope. No. I don’t want to know.
[The small window on the classroom door suddenly shatters.]
Bobby: I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A HORROR MOVIE.
Daigo: Back up.
[A pale hand reaches inside, grabbing at air.]
Kaito: Movement irregular. No balance. No control.
[Mr Kanda forces himself through the broken frame. His head twitches. Eyes blank. Jaw loose.]
Bobby: Sir. Sir. Why do you look like expired milk.
Daigo: He’s not okay.
Kenji: Look at his eyes.
Kanda: *distorted breathing*
Kaito: He has no consciousness. His posture collapsed. Something is overriding his motor control.
[Kanda snaps his head toward Bobby.]
Bobby: OH NO HE PICKED ME. WHY ME.
[Kanda lunges at Bobby with sudden violent speed.]
Daigo: Move Bobby
[Daigo grabs Bobby and pulls him back. Kenji grabs Kanda’s arms.]
Kenji: What is this strength
Kanda: *thrashes wildly*
Kaito: He is not reacting to pain. Not human control.
[Rin walks to the display case.]
Daigo: Rin what are you doing
[Rin smashes the glass with a chair and grabs the katana. The blade gives a faint one-second glow.]
Bobby: WHY DID THE SWORD JUST GLOW WHAT IS THIS SCHOOL
[Kanda breaks free and charges again.]
Daigo: Rin now
[Rin strikes in one clean motion.]
SSSHING
[Kanda’s head falls. His body collapses.]
Silence.
Bobby: Did we just kill our teacher
Daigo: That wasn’t our teacher anymore.
Kaito: Wait.
[Kaito kneels, lifts Kanda’s collar, and reveals a deep fresh bite mark.]
Kaito: This is a bite. The infection spread instantly. This is not a person anymore. Not human. Not anyone.
Bobby: Then what is he
Kaito: Something else.
[The fog outside thickens heavily against the windows.]
Rin: This is the beginning.
