📘 Chapter 1
The corridor of City Hospital was unusually quiet, washed in the pale glow of evening lights.
A young man stood there—strikingly handsome, flawlessly built, fair-skinned, and dressed with the kind of effortless elegance that could make anyone turn for a second look.
Anyone passing by would assume he was a model, not someone waiting anxiously outside a hospital room.
The phone pressed to his ear, he waited for the call to connect.
After a few rings, the line clicked.
“Boss, the girl has regained consciousness,” he reported in a low, composed voice.
A deep voice on the other end replied,
“I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
The call ended.
---
Exactly ten minutes later, a sleek car came to a halt outside the hospital.
A tall, commanding figure stepped out and walked inside with long, purposeful strides.
The young man from earlier approached him immediately.
“Boss, she’s conscious but still under observation. The doctors are checking on her.”
He barely finished speaking when the room door opened and a doctor stepped out.
The moment doctor saw the man who had just arrived, his breath caught.
His hands trembled.
“M-Mr. Singhania…” the doctor stammered, stepping forward.
“Her condition is better now. She was in a coma for two days, but she has finally come out of it. She’s still unconscious, though. We will know more once she wakes up.
But until then, I suggest that you—”
He didn’t get to finish.
Ignoring him entirely, the man pushed open the door and entered the room.
The doctor swallowed his remaining words.
Inside, a young girl lay motionless on the bed, bandages wrapped around her head.
As the man entered, his expression shifted—just slightly—but enough to reveal that seeing her affected him in ways he himself didn’t seem ready to admit.
The doctor and the assistant followed him inside nervously.
The doctor tried again, “Mr. Singhania—”
Before he could speak further, the man spoke without looking away from the girl.
“Eric. Complete the discharge formalities.”
“Yes, boss,” Eric responded immediately.
The man stepped closer to the bed, his gaze lingering on the girl’s pale, fragile face.
After a few silent seconds, he leaned down and lifted her carefully into his arms.
The doctor gasped.
“M-Mr. Singhania, she’s not stable enough to be moved! She hasn’t fully recovered. Taking her out of the hospital right now could be dangerous—”
Every word trembled with fear.
The man turned slowly and gave the doctor a single, cold, piercing stare.
It was enough to drain the color from the doctor’s face.
A cold sweat gathered on his forehead, and for a moment, he felt his heart stop.
He stepped aside instantly.
Without saying another word, the man carried the unconscious girl out of the hospital.
Behind them, Eric hurried to finish the paperwork.
---
Inside the quiet luxury car, the man sat with the girl resting in his arms, her head gently supported.
The driver drove swiftly; the evening roads were nearly empty.
Throughout the journey, the man studied her face—silent, intense, unreadable.
No emotion flickered across his features, making it impossible to guess what lay behind those deep, dark eyes.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a grand mansion.
A guard rushed to open the door.
The man stepped out, tightening his hold on the girl before walking toward the entrance.
As he crossed the threshold, someone approached from inside.
“Ekansh, where have you been? And what happened to her?”
The man’s questioning gaze landed on the unconscious girl in Ekansh’s arms.
This was Ekansh Singhania—twenty-eight years old, six-foot-five, fair-skinned, with a muscular build and a dangerously handsome face that could make anyone weak in the knees.
But his beauty was only the surface.
Beneath it lay an explosive temper, a ruthless heart, and a personality that sent fear down the spines of even the bravest men.
People dreaded crossing paths with him.
Even his rivals thought a hundred times before dreaming of challenging him.
And the man is bold enough to stop him at the mansion’s entrance?
None other than his father—Pratap Singhania—the only person who dared to question Ekansh…
because no one else had the courage to even stand in his presence.
