2. Start of Story
Leo:
Hm… wonder if I can get a tasty yummy chicken!..
– catches chicken after a few seconds –
– eats it –
Leo:
MMMm… yummy. That chicken was good. Anyways let’s go trotting–
– hums to himself –
– stumbles upon a fence leading to the city as a human walked by casually –
Leo:
AH—WHAT THE ACTUAL HUH? IS THAT THING? A HUMAN WHAT? Wait… human. OH. That’s what they’re called…!
– as Leo hopped over the fence –
Leo:
OOF— ahem well anyways…
3. Into the City
Leo stepped out from the last row of trees, blinking hard as the glow from the city hit him across the face.
Leo:
Oh Lordy… hello—hehehe.
The forest behind him felt small now. Quiet.
He stepped onto cold cement for the first time.
Leo:
Well dang… this ain’t the forest anymore.
The city lights blazed across the streets.
Leo:
Geezers… those lights are bright as anything.
Cars roared by. The noise shook him.
Leo:
Okay okay… calm down Leo…
He hugged the shadows, slipping along building edges.
A warm smell drifted out — pastries.
Leo:
Huh?.. what’s that smell… smells like… happiness or somethin’.
He found a café with a box of pastries.
Leo:
Well don’t mind if I do…
He ate, relaxed, froze at noises, then relaxed again.
Leo:
Maybe… maybe this place ain’t so bad.
4. The Warehouse
Leo:
Yea… maybe this p-place are not so bad heh…
He walked deeper into the city where the lights died out.
Leo:
Okay… this place ain’t a café alley… this is the spooky corner of town…
A warehouse sat ahead, dim light flickering.
Inside, Max paced, furious.
Max:
“I told you. If any of them survived, we finish the job this time.”
Leo spotted two foxes hiding — Kiki and Kiko.
Leo:
No… no way… there’s others…
Leo crept inside.
A bolt shifted.
Max froze.
Max:
“…fox prints. Impossible. I wiped them all out.”
Leo stepped out.
Leo:
Yeah. Me. Surprise, sunshine.
5. Confronting Max
Max:
“You should’ve stayed in the forest.”
Leo:
Mercy my tail… you nuked everything!
Max noticed the other foxes.
Max:
“So. Three.”
Leo:
You’re not touching them. Not again. Not ever.
Kiki or Kiko knocked over a barrel.
Max spun around.
Leo:
NOW!
A fight broke out.
Leo:
– claws Max, punches him –
Max:
ARUGH—
– runs away –
6. Escape to the Sea
Leo:
Uhh.. who are you two foxes?
Kiki:
I’m Kiki. This here is Kiko.
Kiko:
Ello!
Leo:
COME ON LET’S GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE HE COMES BACK!
They ran until they reached the sea.
Leo:
Aha! The sea! The WHOLE SEA!
Kiko:
What are we gonna do with that!?
Kiki:
Build a boat!
Leo:
I LOVE that idea!
Five days later, they sailed off. Max arrived too late.
Leo:
OH CRAPPERS! IT’S MAX!!
Kiki steered the boat out far.
Max:
NOOOOOO! WHY!! DAMN IT!!
7. The Island
Kiki:
WAIT! I SEE A HUGE MASSIVE BIG ISLAND!
They reached it after a long journey.
Leo:
Sweet as! Let’s build a house shall we?
They gathered wood, built tools, and constructed a wooden cabin.
Leo:
Sweet!.. Made a house. Good job!..
Weeks passed peacefully.
8. The New Life
Leo:
Ay Kiki… and Kiko…
Kiki:
Yep?
Kiko:
Yes?..
Leo:
Don’t you think we will ever see Max again?
Kiki:
Nope.
Kiko:
Nah.
Leo:
Nope it is then… hopefully… hopefully!
– he chuckled –
As Kiki, Kiko, and Leo build a new life…
