Chapter 1: Marianas Veil
Entry log 1, date 1995:
My names Maya Smith im working in a laboratory in France for the IOE, been working there for a few years and i got the hang of it. Its nothing too special just sit and watch for any sings of life in the Ocean ,currently we are watching a new discovered place in the Marianas veil, The Abyss is what Rian a collegue of mine calls it ,the place is pitch black and any attempt sending a submarine have failed due to the pressure being 20 times than on the surface.
May 21 1995:
I wake up early in the morning took a shower and made breakfast, i live alone given my previous relationship ended in a disaster , found out my boyfriend has been cheating on me with some hooker from a club...eugh anyway i have a shift in 30 minutes so i quickly finnish my food and gets dressed. Around 15 minutes later i arrive in the Facility where i am greeted by my collegue Cole
"Hey Maya" he greets with a warm smile
"Hey Cole great to have you in my shift today" i reply , he laughs
"Oh dont worry Ryan has the day off and Tiffany is with her family so its just us and some people, come on lets go", he turns away and enters the building. As i enter i notice the place buzzing with activity given theres only a couple of us here, i turn right and enters a room labeled "Computer room" ,the whole place is covered in computers and wires ,i sit down on my desk and turns the computer on

I roll my eyes , always the boring steps ,i select the Project Abyss option.

The screen lights up with the map of the abyss and scanners surveing the surface of the Marianas veil hm ,i click on the last catalogued movements
May 19, 4:55 am movement detected( a regular fish)
May 20 5:55 am movement detected (unkown lifeform detected caution)
I furrow my eyebrows ,i call out to Cole who enters the room minutes later
"Whats up?" He asks, i point to the monitor , his face turns serious
"Click on it" he orders, i comply and click on the information
An unkown lifeform has been detected estimated size 200 miles ,the lifeform shows no sign of aggresion and apears to be in a state of slumber.
My face pales ,in all my years of working here nothing like this has been documented , Cole curses under his breath
"Stay here il call the Higher ups this is huge news", he rushes to the phone booth and dials a number ,i on the other hand stare at the monitor in shock, a 200 mile long lifeform? Theres no way i dont believe it ,i check on the status of the upper layers of the Marianas veil
A large number of bones have been located on the ground possible whale carcasse
I stand up and walks up the Cole who finnished talking on the phone
"Cole we have to go to the higher ups NOW, this..thing whatever it is killed a large number of whales..Whales il go grab a radio to call the researchers on the surface near the marianas veil and inform them about this" , he nods as i leave the room and heads to the Laboratory to grab a radio from the table ,i change the channel
"Hello Team Alps do you copy?"
Static... then a male voice is heard
"I copy over"
"Listen to me i got informed about a unidentified lifeform thats 200 miles long"
Theres a moment of silence on the other end before i hear the voice again
"I beg your pardon.. a 200 mile lifeform? What is it a whale? Some fucked up hybrid?"
"I dont know the information i got didnt specify the species but i warn you be cautious and alert the higher ups ,we gotta find a way to keep that thing asleep"
I turn the radio off and takes a deep breath ,this is not good the mere existence of that thing is against everything we know of, god knows what it will do if it wakes up again.
I leave the room to find Cole standing at the exit of the building ,i walk up to him
"We have to go to them" he says
"What did they say about this?", i ask
He shakes his head
"They want us to be there before they tell anything else now lets go" , i nod as we head to his car.
