Chapter 1
June 5th (Saturday)
Silverton, CO
I looked at the old envelope in my left hand one last time as I stood outside of Knight’s Bakery and Restaurant before looking back up and into the restaurant that had a lot of guys that were wearing leather vests and jackets in it. They were all laughing and talking really loudly. Most of them had girls in their laps and all of the girls were wearing the type of clothes I would never dream of wearing. Someone bumped into me almost knocking me down before walking past me and into the restaurant and I saw it was another guy with a leather jacket on. I saw the leather jacket had Shadow’s Demons MC on the back of it and right under that was Park (which I’m guessing might be his nickname or club name). I let out a deep breath hoping that maybe Teagin was still around here even if I never pictured my older sister hanging around these types of people. I haven’t seen Teagin in almost 11 years now since she ran away from home when she was 23 years old so she should be almost 34 years old now. The last letter I got from her that I hid away from our parents was from this address or at least postmarked from this address in Silverton but that was 7 years ago. I took a deep breath before walking towards the door then into the restaurant. The bell above the door went off but no one really paid attention to it or me. I slowly walked towards the counter where I saw a waitress just leaning against the counter talking to a guy who was drinking a beer. He had on a leather vest that had Shadow’s Demons MC on it and under it had the name Mouse. He looked like he would be tall by the way he was sitting up straight in the stool and he had dark brown hair that he had up in a ponytail (or at least the top part because the underneath part was shorter and he had that down). He had a small sun and moon tattoo on his right hand. The waitress saw me first and she looked me up and down. I could tell she thought I didn’t belong here since I was wearing a very long plain grey dress and the only skin that was showing was on my arms (from the elbows down) then my neck. My now dark red hair (which didn’t go with my very pale skin and light brown eyes) fell in front of my eyes and face kind of hiding my face from anyone and it was a little past my shoulders.
“Honey, I think you stumbled into the wrong place.” The waitress said as I stopped at the counter with a lot of space between me and the guy that she was talking to before.
The guy slowly turned to look at me but I just looked at her. I saw the guy try to look at my face but due to my hair he couldn’t see my face but I saw him look me up and down then give the waitress a look who just shrugged her shoulders.
I slowly put the envelope I had on the counter and pushed it towards her. She took the envelope then looked at it.
“Tiara!” She yelled.
When she yelled that the whole restaurant got quiet and the guy near me continued to try to look at my face.
“Kacey, who is looking for Tiara?” A guy from behind me asked.
Kacey looked me up and down.
“Tiara!” Kacey yelled again.
“Kacey.” The guy said again.
“I’m not for sure Prez.” Kacey said looking behind me at the guy then back at me.
She looked at the envelope again.
“What Kacey?” Teagin asked walking out of the kitchen and towards Kacey.
Teagin looked so different than the last time I saw her but of course she would since it’s been so long. Her once light brown hair was now black with blue highlights in it and the clothes she was wearing was very similar to what the other girls was wearing. Her hair was up in a bun which was the only thing that seemed to be the same because she always loved to put her hair up in a bun. She was still 5’8 (like me) and she looked like she had gained weight since the last time I saw her but she was still skinner than I would ever be because I didn’t think she could weigh more than 140. She also had a great tan when before she use to always be pale like me.
Kacey held up the envelope then Teagin looked at it then she quickly looked at me with her light brown eyes (like mine).
“Briannah.” Teagin said in a shocked voice after she looked me up and down then searched my face like she was trying to make sure she knew me.
I nodded my head.
Teagin smiled really big then she ran around the counter before running straight into me and giving me a big hug.
“Tiara, I take it this is your sister you told me about.” Prez said after Teagin ended the hug.
“Yes sir, how did…” Teagin said looking at a guy behind me then back at me.
“You ran away like I did.” She said and I nodded my head.
“Oh Bri.” She said before hugging me again.
“Honey.” A guy that looked like he was Teagin’s age with very short blonde hair and dark blue eyes plus about 6’4 said pulling Teagin away from me and flush against him.
“Nico, this is my sister Briannah. Briannah, this is my husband Nico.” Teagin said looking at him then smiling at me.
“Hey.” I said in my quiet voice and looking at my hands instead of at him.
“Nice to meet you Briannah.” Nico said and I nodded my head while still looking at my hands.
“Prez, can we talk?” Teagin asked.
“Sure.” Prez said.
“Have a seat Briannah, I’ll be right back.” Teagin said before pointing to a seat near the guy with the vest that had the name Mouse on the back of it.
I walked towards the seat then sat down. Nico, Teagin, and a couple of other people walked to the back of the restaurant after that.
I was picking at my fingernails when a glass of water was pushed towards me on my left side. I looked at the glass then glanced up a little bit to see Mouse looking at me. He pointed to the glass of water and smiled at me before looking away. I looked back at the glass of water then picked it up. I slowly tasted of the water and I heard him laugh a little bit because of the way I was slowly tasting of the water.
“Mouse!” A guy behind us yelled.
He turned to look at the guy then he got up and walked away.
“He’s single.” Kacey said winking at me after Mouse walked away.
I quickly shook my head before pushing the glass of water away and she smiled at me.
“How old are you Bri?” She asked.
“21.” I said and she nodded her head.
“And innocent as can be. Tiara will help show you the ropes but boy is your life about to change.” She said before walking away from me.
