Chapter 2

For all her chaos, confidence, and contradictions, Y/N Loughty had a strange effect on people— like she moved with a gravity of her own.

The five men she would eventually marry met her at different times, in different places, for different reasons.

But their reactions were always the same: a pause, a breath caught in their throat, a quiet, internal voice whispering: There she is.

Below is the story of those beginnings.

1. Declan Rice - The First Spark (2019)

Declan met Y/N during a Sidemen charity event in 2019. He wasn’t even supposed to be there— West Ham’s schedule had been tight— but he came anyway, slipping in with a hoodie pulled low over his face.

Y/N was on the sidelines, arguing loudly with Simon and Tobi about who cheated in a warm-up challenge. Declan had heard her voice before he saw her; animated, raspy, full of personality.

Then she turned around.

Their eyes met.

Declan forgot how to blink.

She walked straight up to him, stuck out her hand, and said:

“Your team’s trash, by the way. Welcome.”

He laughed— actually doubled over— and he knew immediately that he was in trouble.

All throughout the day, he kept finding himself glancing at her. She wasn’t trying to impress anyone. She was yelling at Manny for stealing her water bottle, roasting Harry on camera, balancing a packet of crisps on Ethan’s head.

And then she looked at him again— just a quick glance, but warm, curious, mischievous.

Declan felt his heartbeat jump like it was trying to leap out of his chest.

He told himself he was not obsessed.

He was lying.

2. Kai Havertz - Quiet Lightning (2020)

Kai first saw Y/N backstage at a London fashion event Chelsea had been invited to. She wasn’t dressed like anyone else in the room— oversized Sidemen jumper, gold hoops, eyeliner sharp enough to cut someone.

Kai watched her from across the room, sipping water and pretending not to stare.

She was laughing with a group if designers, her voice bright and bold, and for someone as naturally as reserved as Kai, she was like lightning in human form.

At one point she caught him watching.

She didnt blush.

She didn’t look away.

She just raised one eyebrow and mouthed: What?

Kai nearly choked on his drink.

Later, she walked past him, brushing lightly against his arm as if it was nothing. But to Kai, it felt electric.

“Hi,” she said casually. “You look like you think too much.”

He blinked. “Uhm…maybe.”

She smiled— slow, teasing, knowing.

“That’s okay. I talk enough for both of us.”

Kai had never fallen so fast in his life.

3. Ben White - The Slow Burn That Ignited on Sight (2020)

Ben met Y/N during an off-season gym session. She’d shown up with JJ, claiming she needed to train for a Sidemen video, though she looked more interested in filming JJ struggling with warm-ups.

Ben noticed ger instantly— everyone did— but he pretended not to. He kept doing his sets, headphones on, jaw tight, trying to avoid the chaos that always accompanied YouTube personalities.

Then Y/N walked past him, stopped, walked back, squinted, and said:

“You look like you judge everyone in this room. Am I wrong?”

Ben froze. “…I don’t judge people.”

“Mm-hm,” she said, unconvinced.

Then she smiled.

That smile wrecked him.

He tried to go back to his workout, but now his hands were shaking. She was magnetic, sharp, funny— and she saw right through him, effortlessly.

He didn’t speak to her again that day, but when he went home, he caught himself thinking about her at least a dozen times.

He hated it.

He couldn’t stop.

4. Gabriel Martinelli - Love at First Chaos (2020)

Gabriel had met Y/N at the Emirates, long before anyone knew they’d end up together. She had come to film a behind-the-scenes Sidemen vlog, and was accidentally let into the players’ hallway instead of the media area.

She wss standing in the corridor, staring at a vending machine like it had personally offended her.

“It ate my money,” she announced when she noticed Gabriel watching.

He offered to buy her another snack. She accepted— and immediately chose the most sugary item available.

“You’re Gabriel Martinelli,” she said between bites. “You run like someone set you on fire.”

He laughed so hard he had to lean on the wall.

Y/N wasn’t like anyone he’d met— she was unpredictable, dramatic, funny without trying to be funny.

And when she told him, “You have a very kind face,” Gabriel felt something warm bloom in his chest.

It was instant.

Effortless.

Dangerous.

5. Riccardo Calafiori - The Collision That Changed Everything (2024)

Riccardo met Y/N in the Arsenal cafeteria during his first week at the club. She’d come with Kai to drop off lunch for the players and was ranting animatedly about someone stealing her limited-edition Sidemen hoodie.

Riccardo wasn’t paying attention to her words— he was too busy staring at her like she was a constellation he’d never seen before.

She turned, caught his eye, snd said:

“Hi. You’re new. And very tall.”

“Hi,” he replied, absolutely useless.

“Are yoh shy?” she asked, stepping closer.

He swallowed. “Only with pretty people.”

Y/N blinked, surprised— then smirked.

That smirk undid him completely.

The whole room faded. The noise, the players, the clatter of dishes. All Riccardo could see was her, standing far too close, with eyes that shined like she knew exactly what she did to people.

He was obsessed before he learned her name.

Later, Kai casually mentioned, “Oh yeah, that’s Y/N. She’s my fiancée.”

Riccardo nearly dropped his water bottle.

And yet— that didn’t stop his heart.

Every Story Began the Same Way

They met her in different years, different clubs, different continents of personality.

But the effect was identical:

Declan felt his world tilt.

Kai forgot how to breathe.

Ben lost the control he guarded so tightly.

Gabriel felt something bloom like spring.

Riccardo felt struck— hit by a force he couldn’t explain.

Five men, five beginnings.

One woman who changed everything.
