Chapter 1
Chapter 1 The Day the World Brought Them Together
Shybean had never traveled so far from Egypt before. The air here felt cooler, softer, and the grass tickled her hooves in a way the desert sand never did. Her mother always told her, “Sometimes destiny puts you exactly where you need to be.”
Shybean wasn’t sure she believed in destiny… until today.
She bent down to sniff a purple wildflower when THUMP!
Something crashed into her from behind.
Shybean tumbled into the grass with a very dramatic “Oof!”
“OH MY GOSH are you okay?!” a flustered voice squeaked.
Shybean opened her eyes and found herself staring at a white llama with soft, snow-colored fur and big blue eyes. She looked nervous but kind.
“I’m Minibean!” the white llama blurted. “I’m from Russia! I didn’t mean to bump into you I was watching a butterfly!”
Shybean blinked. “It’s okay,” she said gently. “You’re very fast.”
Minibean laughed shyly. “Not always! Just… sometimes too fast.”
Before Shybean could say more, another voice shouted from far away:
“WAIT FOR ME!”
A rainbow llama came racing down the hill, her fur shining in pinks, purples, blues, and yellows. She was grinning ear to ear, running like the wind.
She skidded to a stop, almost tumbling into them. “Phew! I caught up! I’m Mini Rainbow! I’m from America! And I run like a champion kind of.”
Shybean blinked again. “Hi…?”
Minibean pointed at the rainbow llama. “She ran ahead of me earlier and got lost!”
“I didn’t get lost!” Mini Rainbow said proudly. “I was exploring! There’s a difference.”
The two of them began bickering playfully, and Shybean couldn’t help smiling. She’d always been quiet and careful, but something about these two made her heart feel lighter.
Finally, she asked, “So… why are you both here?”
Mini Rainbow and Minibean exchanged glances.
“Well,” Minibean said, “I wanted to see more of the world.”
“And I,” Mini Rainbow added dramatically, “wanted to find new friends!”
Shybean tilted her head. “And you found me.”
Minibean’s face brightened. “We did!”
Mini Rainbow grinned. “Best find ever!”
The three llamas sat in the tall grass, laughing about how they’d met. The sun dipped low in the sky, turning the clouds orange and gold. Even though they’d just met, it already felt special—like they were pieces of the same puzzle, finally fitting together.
Shybean smiled softly. “Maybe this is where our story begins.”
Mini Rainbow nodded eagerly. “Yeah—and it’s gonna be the best story ever.”
Minibean giggled. “As long as no one crashes into anyone else again.”
They all laughed.
And as the last light of day sparkled over them, the three llamas from three different corners of the world became something more than strangers—
they became best friends.
