Roommates
It was Jay’s birthday today. As usual, he sat in front of his camera, giggling and replying to comments from his fans. The dim light of his studio gave him a soft, cosy look. A cake sat on the desk in front of him, a slice already missing—the one he’d devoured after singing “Happy Birthday” to himself, while the live stream flooded with wishes from viewers. He was happy, of course, but more than anything, he was excited.
His roommate was returning from vacation today. A small part of him hoped the gorgeous blonde boy he shared a flat with would bring him a present. They’d been living together for almost three years, ever since they both started university. Jay was majoring in broadcasting, while Park, his roommate, was a med student.
Jay's YouTube channel, where he uploaded music covers and other content, had grown to 6.5 million followers. Doing live streams had become second nature to him. In fact, he had even rented a small studio near their shared apartment—where he was sitting right now—for recording and streaming content. Park often teased him about how dedicated he was, but Jay thought he was just being a good roommate.
A knock on the door interrupted his stream. Jay's face lit up. "Alright, everyone, I think my roommate’s back!" he told the viewers excitedly.
When he opened the door, he was instantly tackled by Park, who planted kisses all over his face, laughing and loudly wishing him a happy birthday.
"Park! Stop it, I’m live!" Jay whispered urgently, his cheeks flushed as he tried to push him away. He threw a quick glance at the camera to make sure nothing looked too suspicious.
Jay’s fans were familiar with Park, knowing him only as Jay’s affectionate and slightly over-the-top roommate. They adored the beautiful blonde, who had no qualms about showing how much he cherished Jay. In fact, Jay often joked on camera about how clingy and annoying Park could be. But what the viewers didn’t know was that, behind closed doors, Jay and Park were a little more than just roommates.
"Then finish up quickly and come. I got you a present," Park whispered, grinning mischievously as he glanced at the camera and gave a cheerful wave to Jay’s fans.
"I’ll be there soon," Jay mumbled under his breath, just loud enough for Park to hear as he left the studio with a wink.
