Tripped into love
Lina had a unique talent: tripping over literally everything. Stairs, sidewalks, her own shoelaces. Nothing was safe. Her friends joked she could trip over air if she tried hard enough.
One sunny Monday, Lina was late for class. Books stacked precariously in her arms, she dashed across the courtyard and face-planted straight into Max, the school’s cutest guy.
“Whoa! Are you okay?” he asked, barely keeping a straight face as he helped her up.
“I’m… fine,” Lina mumbled, cheeks bright red. “Totally… fine.”
From that moment, Max seemed to appear everywhere she went. In the cafeteria, Lina tripped over a chair and landed on the table. Again, Max was there. On the stairs, Lina’s shoelace betrayed her, and once more, Max caught her. She began to wonder if the universe had a crush on him or on her embarrassment.
Her friends teased her endlessly. “You’re basically dating him at this point,” they said. Lina groaned but couldn’t deny the tiny flutter in her chest whenever Max smiled at her.
One rainy afternoon, Lina tried to impress Max by walking confidently in heels. Big mistake. She slipped in a puddle, arms flailing, and of course, Max grabbed her just in time. She was soaked, mud on her skirt, and utterly mortified.
Max laughed, holding an umbrella over her head. “You really know how to make my day interesting,” he said.
Lina, drenched and embarrassed, realized something. She didn’t mind all these accidents if Max was always there to catch her. Her heart raced every time he smiled, every time their hands brushed, and every time he laughed at her clumsy antics.
By the end of the semester, Lina finally understood. Love wasn’t about being perfect. It was about falling sometimes literally and finding someone willing to catch you.
One sunny afternoon, as they walked together in the courtyard, Lina tripped once again, but this time, she didn’t panic. Max caught her, grinned, and she laughed, looking into his eyes.
“You know,” she said, brushing herself off, “I think I’ve fallen for you.”
Max’s grin widened. “I was hoping you would.”
And just like that, amid trips, laughter, and tiny accidents, Lina and Max’s story ended perfectly with them falling in love exactly as she always did, clumsily, hilariously, and completely. 💖
