Wax Wings
If I could take Icarus' wings
And use them to fly to where you are
I would faster than Icarus took to the sun
Maybe the wings would melt for me too
Maybe wherever you are is that warm
Wrapped up in the safe, protective, sun-like heat
I'd still take that flight
Just to see you again
To tell you all you've missed
I'd beg you home
But I think you'd refuse
You'd refuse if you are at peace and painless
Like everyone says you must be by now
I hope that's where you are
Peace and pain free in somewhere you loved
Even if you are though
I still miss you
I still make a fool of myself at times
Begging to the wind to bring you back home
I always will
Until I get my own wings
