"This story has already been highly engaging and it’s easy to invest in the characters and what they’re going through. At first, I didn’t understand the back and forth between the main character and her family / boyfriend perspective, but as I got further into the story I find it beautiful to highlight how everyone is effected by her kidnapping and torture. I will admit it was a bit hard to track with the chapters jumping between characters and timeline. Going from present with her escape, during her hospital stay, back to the obduction, and right after, to then her hospital release and stay in the safehouse, it was a lot to track. If you’re blending character perspectives, it might be easier to read if the timeline is more linear? Unless you’re doing this as a tool to keep the reader feeling out of order like Natalie feels. As someone who works in the mental health field and has a psychotherapist as a best friend, It might be good to add in more treatment techniques a therapist would use like polyvagal regulation, and possibly EMDR eventually as she moves through her trauma, and other trauma-informed therapies. All in all though, I love your writing style and I really can’t wait to read more! "
