Prologue

Summer.

Spring.

Autumn.

Winter.

Sound familiar? You common folk may know these as the four seasons of your spinning planet orbiting the sun as you read this.

Long before any of your ancestors would be born and before the continents of Earth had spread apart from one another too much. They were separated into four sections.

In the far North, Summer stood. A glorious place with green grass spread along it’s surface, flowers sprouting and reaching for the sun that almost never set. They were incredibly intelligent in the form of combat, putting most of their effort into keeping their army strong.

To the East was Spring, a beautiful and gorgeous counterpart to Summer, just... less hot. They were covered in light greens and bright colored flowers that grew slowly. Despite everything however, they were the weakest of the seasons.

To the West, Autumn was. They were the most vibrant with their red, yellow, and orange color scheme due to their trees and constantly falling leaves. They weren’t as strong as Summer, but much stronger than Spring. Which was good, due to them never exactly... needing to use their weapons.

And then there was one. The coldest and most bitter (other than Prince Alexander of Autumn, of course). And also my home. Winter. With castles and sculptures made of delicate ice. Constantly blizzards minus... well, when my dear father isn’t mad. We are the second strongest season, only being second to Summer.

Which allows me the opportunity to address the great and glaring issue in the room.

Summer and Winter are currently in the middle of a great and powerful war, devastating both seasons greatly with Summer’s crops beginning to freeze and Winter people physically beginning to melt, along with their homes. This war has gone on for a while, long before I was born. But, me being born was a great resurgence of this great war.

But, that’s not exactly important yet.

What is important is that this story... isn’t exactly a story all about this terrible war. But, about a particular emotion that blossomed between two very different people...

And all of it started...

With an apple.
