Light, Darkness, and the Choices Between
"The second book of Purpose truly stepped things up. As always, the author has an incredible talent for writing suspense and delivering twists that keep you completely hooked and shocked throughout the story. This is so much more than just a love story, it is a powerful exploration of the contrast between good and evil, and how thin the line between them truly is. The story shows how a single event can transform even the purest individual into their darkest form. It also highlights how powerful truth can be, and how devastating the consequences become when lies continue to pile up until everything collapses catastrophically. You feel deeply for the characters. You grow attached to them, hate some of them, and genuinely mourn the loss of others. The author managed to turn an intriguing romance/fantasy into a dark, powerful mysterious fantasy that constantly makes you question every decision. Never underestimate the darkness of evil, but also never lose hope. You can feel that the journey has only just begun, and the characters still have many difficult choices ahead of them. A must-read story that might just change the way you see things. 🖤"
Choosing your own hell
"Honestly, after finishing this, the main thing I’m thinking about is how much of a mess life becomes when people start keeping secrets "for your own good." It’s such a classic setup, but it hits hard because you can see the train wreck coming. What really got to me wasn't the supernatural stuff or the "twin flame" destiny, but that feeling of being completely played. Watching Richard weaponize Adam’s pain and trauma was just frustrating in the best way possible. It’s a perfect example of how "truth" can be the most dangerous thing if it's served by the wrong person. I liked that the whole "angel vs darkness" thing here doesn't feel like a cheap costume. It feels like a burden. You’re watching these characters struggle with parts of themselves they didn't even know existed, and you can't help but wonder if they actually have any free will at all, or if they’re just pieces on Richard’s chessboard. It’s heavy, it’s raw, and it leaves you with that slightly uncomfortable feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop. If you’re into stories where love is messy and the "hero" might just burn everything down because he’s hurting, this is it. Definitely intense."
