Summary

Germany, 1942. Thirteen-year-old Karl has lived half his life in the shadow of a single night—the night his older brother Walter disappeared into the snow and never returned. The world insists Walter’s death was a tragic accident, but Karl knows better. He saw enough to understand it was no accident at all. Armed only with a cryptic note Walter left behind, Karl begins searching for the truth in a world where asking questions is dangerous. Every clue pulls him deeper into a hidden network of resistance, secrets, and silent enemies who watch more closely than he realizes. As Karl unravels the mystery of Walter’s fate, he discovers that courage has consequences—and so does loyalty. Caught between what he knows and what he must do, Karl finds himself walking the same perilous path his brother once did. “My Brother Walter” is a tense, heart-wrenching story of family, bravery, and the cost of standing up for what’s right—set in one of the darkest moments in history.
