Averline’s Gazetteer

Averline, a kingdom that has prospered since a long time ago with a growing population, is ruled by the current King, Aurenhart. A vast realm located beside a sparkling river and blessed with varying natures and resources that seem to have no end, it is divided into many regions within. It consists of five main cities, including the Capital city itself, and the four reaches, Vinterra, Oxmere, Iridelle, and Syrmorra, with small villages and settlements scattering around the kingdom. The Capital itself is the biggest city, located in the middle of the kingdom where the main royal castle resides. Outside the castle walls lies a bustling marketplace and a busy street that never sleeps.

Vinterra, a reach far to the north, is a place shrouded in icy wind and cool rain. It is a land of misty forests and rocky moorlands, with cliffs and caves here and there filled with minerals and gemstones, a treasured place for the miners of the kingdom. It is also known for its rangers, falconers, and wind-readers. It is currently ruled by Lady Iselyn of House Breezette.

Oxmere, a reach to the east, is the largest of the four reaches, second only to the Capital city overall. It is filled with blooming greenery and winding rivers, surrounded by wide pasturelands clad in a temperate and fertile climate. It is a very important part of the kingdom, as it is considered the kingdom's breadbasket, providing agriculture and livestock. It is currently ruled by Lord Callum of House Morwain.

Iridelle, a reach to the west, is a coastal land with gentle hills and narrow river valleys connected to the sea, scattered with sanctuaries. Once a land only filled with ancient temples, it has now prospered into a scholar city, home to academies, libraries, shrines, and forums for ethical discourse. It is currently ruled by Lord Ellery of House Atheren.

Syrmorra, the southern reach, is a land divided between the coastal region and the borderland. It is a sun-scorched expanse of stone ridges and military outposts. It is composed of gigantic forts used as academies to train elite soldiers for the royal army. It also supplies a steady stream of officers and strategists across the kingdom. It is also a famous place for horse breeding and naval docks. The current ruler is Lord Maurin of House Lancaster.
