PERFECT LIES HIDDEN LIES
Chapter 1: Perfect Life, Hidden Lies
Bella Morgan had believed in perfection. Every morning, sunlight spilled across the Sinclair mansion. The scent of fresh roses drifted through her bedroom. She sipped her tea, imagining Adrian’s charming grin as he walked in.
But perfection was a lie.
Her chest tightened when she saw Adrian’s phone on the table. A message blinked: Cassie Reynolds.
Cassie. Her best friend.
No. It couldn’t be.
She tried to laugh it off. Maybe she was imagining things. But deep down, she knew. Something was terribly wrong.
Victoria, her mother-in-law, appeared in the doorway, smiling that practiced, icy smile.
“Bella, a wife who notices too late… pays the price,” she said, syrupy, venom hidden beneath sweetness.
Bella forced a smile. Her hands shook. What does she mean?
Dinner was worse. Cassie entered, flawless, radiant, moving like she owned the house. Adrian’s eyes lingered too long. Too knowingly.
Bella’s world shattered.
Her best friend. Her husband. Both had chosen each other over her.
She pretended to sip her wine, but inside, a storm raged. Anger. Hurt. Betrayal.
She retreated to her room. Quiet. Darkness. Solitude.
I won’t let them break me, she whispered.
The words felt small, weak… but a spark ignited. A promise.
They would regret underestimating her.
Bella’s POV
She couldn’t sleep. Not after what she had seen. Not after what she had felt. Every corner of the Sinclair mansion felt like a trap, every shadow whispering secrets she wasn’t ready to hear.
Cassie. Adrian. The thought twisted in her chest like a knife. Her best friend. Her husband. How could they do this? How could she have been so blind?
Victoria’s words echoed in her mind again: A wife who notices too late… pays the price.
Bella pressed her face into her pillow, trying to stop the tears. She wanted to scream. She wanted to confront them both. But she had nothing—no proof, no leverage, just the raw, gnawing pain of betrayal.
Her phone buzzed. A message from Cassie. Innocent. Friendly. Mocking. Bella’s fingers hovered over the screen. She wanted to delete it. She wanted to reply with anger. But she froze.
She needed a plan.
A spark of something darker flickered inside her. I won’t let this end me.
Bella’s eyes hardened. She wouldn’t beg. She wouldn’t cry. She wouldn’t disappear quietly.
Tomorrow, she would start watching. Observing. Learning.
Because she would rise. And when the time came, they would pay.
