Introduction
In the pale shimmer of sunrise, Satsuki-you-stirred awake, her eyelids heavy. She groaned softly as she stretched her slim, well-shaped body before sliding out of bed. As always, her morning ritual began with the click of the television. The news flickered to life while she padded into the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face.
“The Explosion Hero—Great Explosion Murder God: DYNAMIGHT—has made a remarkable leap to Rank Five. A symbol of hope who once saved the world alongside Pro Hero DEKU, he continues to inspire countless young people to pursue heroism,” the reporter announce
Satsuki swished water in her mouth, spat into the sink, and dried her face with a towel. Stepping back into the room, she paused before the glowing screen. Her purple eyes—once bright before the war, now dulled—fixed on Dynamight’s image.
“Waste of time…” she murmured, almost too softly to be heard.
She switched off the television and returned to the bathroom for a quick, refreshing shower. Within minutes she was dressed in a crisp suit, adjusting her tie and smoothing her collar as she studied her reflection—preparations for her first day as a sidekick under Dynamight’s agency
Something she once believed would never become reality. Steeling herself, she headed for the door, only to find it swinging open to reveal a tall figure already waiting outside. The last person she wished to see this early.
Her gaze dropped as she forced an awkward greeting. “I thought you said you’d wait in your office. Why the rush?”
“Do I need permission to meet my own sidekick? You missed my calls. All of them,” Katsuki replied.
Satsuki stepped out and shut the door behind her, falling into stride beside him in his hero suit. “You’re going to cause a scene in this apartment building. Your name is too big.”
Hands shoved into his pockets, Katsuki’s voice softened—nothing like how he used to sound back in U.A. “They wouldn’t dare. I’d just scare them off.”
“That’s not nice,” Satsuki chided.
“It is.” Katsuki talked back.
“It’s not.”
“It is.”
“Never true.”
“Nu-uh.”
Satsuki sighed, defeated, and shook her head. “Whatever…”
