Can A Cat Be A Diva

It is the beginning of summer 2014. Once upon a time in the Midwest not far from me and you lived a Serval cat that wandered the streets looking for a place to sleep. Her 23 carrot white diamond studded collar was heavier than usual today. A cat, a flea and a phenomenal mouse will learn that you always keep your word and never make a promise that you cannot keep.

She finds a place near a garbage can in a cubby hole made out of a pile of clothes. It has been a long day for her and she falls fast asleep. She dreamed about how the situation she is now in came to be This finicky feline once had owners and a good home, but this cat was always too smart for her own good. She was always doing the things she could instead of the things she should. Playing with a ball of yarn was to plain. The games that her owners came up with were all the same and to be honest quite lame. Francine the cat became unhappy and she was always bored.

Her toys were an insult to her intelligence and what her owners often told her to do just became a lot of noise. So Francine began to make her owners as unhappy as she was. Until one summer day she went for a ride far far away. That began her life of wandering the streets. Francine is very stubborn and wouldn’t go back and apologize the special way cats do. She felt like for as long as her owners knew her they should’ve been able to understand how she felt and know what was on her mind. After all she had been with them for such a long… long time. She remembers she was a new born kitten and she was the first thing she had ever seen. They fed her with a bottle and included her in everything. They loved Francine and took care of her in every way. She recalls the days when the things they did together were not so lame. She remembers the trip to California to get her collar. She remembers seeing all those funny colors of green that they called “dollars”.

Another Half

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
