Chapter 1
Hi, my name is ivy and this is my story. I was born in the human world of forks with no knowledge of anything mystical or magical and as a matter of fact I found the thought of werewolves and vampires and witches and fairies kinda ridiculous. That was until my 16th birthday when the twin wolf kings came to visit my small town in McCune Kansas. It was a very unusual day for us because it was the middle of summer and a large blizzard had come over our town the day before. I was celebrating my 16th birthday with my friends Emma (16 and female), Carter (14 and non binary), Liam (17 and male), and hope (15 and transgender to be a boy). We had all been friends since 3rd grade and Carter had moved into town. So I was celebrating my 16th birthday at the town park when suddenly my mom comes running over. My mom was always very calm and everyone knew if she looks panicked then something is terribly wrong. So she comes running over and says “I’ve we need to go home NOW.” I look at her like are you crazy because no one was out here but us and I had been wanting to have my sweet 16 in the park. I really didn’t want to have the birthday that I had been waiting for my whole life for. “Mom are you serious about this? What is even going on?” My mom just grabbed my hand and started pulling me towards our house with a panicked look. It was that look that made me stop resisting and follow along. This entire time my friends had been so silent that I had almost forgotten they were there. Finally Carter speaks up “um miss chase? What is going on here? You seem pretty stressed and scared.” Me and my moms last name is chase. I had once looked up what the name chase means and I saw that it meant hunter before my mom snatched my laptop away and said that I could only have it for school work. She had the same scared look then that she has now. We finally reach my house and I hear it then. The sound of….. howling wolves. It sounded like a dozen different wolves. My moms face goes deathly pale and I stare at her in shock. “Mom? Are you okay?” My mom looks at me and shoves her bag at me and whispers. “Whatever happens never stop running. And take your friends. Liam and Emma can tell you what is going on when you get far enough away. Now go!” She shoves me and I take off running. I had been taking track and basketball for the past few years so I knew immediately when someone says run you go as fast as you can and that’s what I do. I fight the urge to look back at my mother or back at anyone else just focusing on running and the wind in my hair. The last thing I hear of my mother is her screams to go faster then suddenly silence.
