Short and sweet
"I happened on this story by chance. It was a short, fun, and sweet read about a young man who’s getting divorced soon. To save him and his asset, his best friend recommends an attorney, who turns out to be an ex from before he married. And so, we follow the story of how they try to navigate the divorce while staying professional amidst personal feelings. This would have been a smoother read if not because of the transitions, and a few other repetitions. Sometimes, they jump from places to places without us knowing when it happened. One time, Jack and his friend were in a room, and the next moment, Jack is in his office. How did he get to his office? This happens too many times for it to be ignored. Also, the story is written in third person omniscient, which means we get a look into everyone’s POV. And that includes that of the side character, so it took away the element of surprise for me. But all in all, it made a good read. If you’re a fan of: - second chance love - sweet romance - no spicy romance - forbidden love (client x attorney) - short stories Then this is perfect for you. It can also serve as a palette cleanser if you’ve been through some heavy/darker reads. "
